On Interstate 5 In A Greyhound Bus

mother pauline boards the big greyhound double decker
her freckled son goes before her wearing a cub scout cap
hurry up she says as they climb the stairs to the upper deck
the bus driver tips his cap and starts the greyhound engine
mother pauline tells the little boy they are

1960

Johnny Cash gives it away for free,
John K says he would like to be Prez.
Richard Nixon will run against him,
so the republican party says.

Lamar Cox gets 44th KO,
‘The Stilt’ scores 58 in one game.
In high school Heater’s 135,
gives him claim to some basketball fame.

Presley says goodbye to the Army,
and is back on the recording scene.

Strange Sign Was Seen In Bavila Kingdom In 1960

A strenge sign was seen in Uvila
when Prince Kambulishi Lutambwe went to rest.
The grandsons of King Mussabwa Kamango were hunted by some traitors
and swindlers silently,
One day Prince Kambulishi Lutambwe failed
in their traps that were poisoned
things brought by some people to terminate him.
A prince who could defend their throne as colonial rule was abolished in

The great Elvis Presley stole the show
When it came to music, fast and slow

Patsy Cline could sing so sweet and fine
Without a doubt, her voice would shine

Hank Williams had a son with his name
Like father, like son – they claimed fame

Ray Charles played despite being blind
His listeners knew he was one of a kind

Aretha Franklin

Saturday Night, Yorkshire, 1960

Walking through the village jingling coins
Anticipation rising, slight tingling in the loins
Catch the bus to Hornsea for the weekly dance,
Where if we’re lucky we might stand a chance
Of experiencing a pair of soft female breasts
Press lightly and gently up against our chests.
A lovely heady sensation that just can’t last.
I’m sure they make the music end

Premium MemberDriving Into a Test Pattern Moon

On a winding road of Channel Eight
I come across a test pattern, for I am late
In the form of the moon, an eclipse? Oh, great!
I stare into the eyes of grayscale fate.

I feel mesmerized, violated, a pawn somehow.
There it is, in front of me, an unbelievable wow.
No animal in sight – not a horse, human

The Thresholds of Tomorrow
David J Walker

It is 1959 and
the television

is my constant companion
Comforting me during breakfast

Praying at noon over meals
Saying good night before

Turning out the light sparkling
Over its ghostly screen

	Flickering gray & green
Retreating into infinity

Speaking of the expanse and
The advanced enhancements
Of 1960

When new math counts life by

100ft. under the paving, 100f o into work.

Heat attacks via, boilers, stoves & grill.

Chilling the blood of the faint hearted.

We Were Once Young

Our bones were once strong,
Our blow was once a punch,
  Our teeth's were once healthy
                to munch,
Our skin didn't wrinkle in a twinkle
We didn't become old, we grew old.
