Quiet night.
Quiet love...
Never told.
Damn my silence.
Wish you understood.
All I am is you.
I feel such a fool...

And fools are cheap these days....

Off To Work In 1960
The light is window
morning balance,
black and grey.

Last night`s pub
washed out with dark tea,
pull the chain,pat the keys.

The front door shuts
unwillingly, steps are cold ;
time for the ghosts....

Today she left this earthly plane
Finally freed from depression and pain
My heart is heavy and I feel bereft
Only sixty five years; too soon she left

Chariton Iowa 1960
We were in a 1953 Chevy with our Daddies
Brothers

We all three got tossed out into a ditch
when the car caught fire
then we got grabbed up and they ran with us

When the car exploded we had a new problem
The field was dry...

Her Independence-Nigeria
Her freedom She fought for, overcoming
 Hurdles' and struggles
Against all odds and cost
Alas! She did gain Her freedom
After Her history of pain
It was worth the fight.
She is called Nigeria!
Mother of Africa!
1st October 1960,
 I would not forget.
Arise 'O' Compatriot.
Arise 'O' Nigeria.

Happy Independence day....

    Same is true of trigonometry

Premium Member January Means Everything To Me
January 1960 must come or I’d not exist —
After the blizzard snow — bridesmaids in Christmas red.
New the bride — dark hair, pink lips.
Under the honeymoon a seed was sown —
Armed with words in her tiny fist.
Romance of my parents, both twins —
Yonder their September stars — I blow a kiss.

Famine Foretold
(Stalin, 1930, 30 million, and Mao Tse Tung 1960, 42 million, et al)

The land is the lord of men who live
Near yellow and lime-green fields,
Who plant it and till it and gladly give
All their toil, for crops it yields.

Dictators forced them to the modern way,
Profaning ancestral farms,
The land did avenge itself one day
With the prophesied, ancient harms....

In Depend Ends
On the eve of the new call,
wits mated with passion,
zeal donated by conception,
hypersensitive pulls attracted all,
contracts into a horrendous span
as independence made for the span.

But after those,
the cry was severed by greed
seasoned by ills inflected by politics,
as all patriots the new trend follow.
By and by: a swap
as the intended assumed claptrap.

The 1960 independence,
in depend ends.

Fox Flick
'Fox Flick' from the 1960 Slang Words

Here she goes gimme some skin
with friends in the Friggin ,
She is the flower child
who is always Gassed.

She loves the Hair -Musical
later becomes the radical,
She was the crazy Raddie
who was the sick Puppy.

She loves her real soul
which is the her only rule,
she never goes as the Rattled
because she doesn't want that load.

A policeman named Abele Bibka
Never ran marathons in Korea
   Won Olympics in Rome
   Took a gold medal home
His country then named, Abyssinia

________________________________
You can't make up a name like this...
Abele was in the military guard of
then-Emperor Hailie Selassie. He
won the gold medal in 1960, back
when most Olympic athletes were
true amateurs, training in their
'spare time.'... Do you know what
Abele's country's name is today?!...

Pat Hingle
(DEDICATED TO PAT HINGLE WHO DIED JANUARY 3, 2009.)

He was very talented and he had many fans.
He starred as Commissioner Gordon in Batman.
When he guest starred on the Andy Griffith Show, everybody laughed.
He nearly died in 1960 when he fell down an elevator shaft.
He starred in Hang 'Em High and in Sudden Impact.
It was a sad day when he died and that's a fact.
When you get down to it, he was a great guy.
Now many people are sad because they have to say goodbye....

Listen to poem:
The Thresholds of Tomorrow
David J Walker

It is 1959 and
the television

is my constant companion
Comforting me during breakfast

Praying at noon over meals
Saying good night before

Turning out the light sparkling
Over its ghostly screen

	Flickering gray & green
Retreating into infinity

Speaking of the expanse and
The advanced enhancements
Of 1960

When new math counts life by
the numbers 1-0

there will be no returning from
the thresholds of tomorrow...

And Now Mend
(letters to my presido-elect): i

good must be lucky
else
luck must be goody
that niger now lurks in seas of goody-goody

1960 as father sang
was her year unlucky
who dwelt
on many a natural grant
with sons great
that beheaded must
lie in tombs
the untimely tombs
of countless days

and now mend
your brutalised
your kwashiokored
your maimed
your exiled

for
good must be lucky
else
luck must be goody
that niger now lurks in seas of goody-goody
