When I Close My Eyes
"recently scenes of early life have stolen into my mind, like breezes blown ..."
Quote by _Samuel Taylor Coleridge (from his writings)
wrapped in a plaintive trance, when I close my eyes,
surreal abode appears in my faint dream,
encompassed by stunning garden..mesmerize
all around charming wildflower bushes gleam
blushing damsel in a pretty dainty cloak,
on a swing, reveling in, beside a stream.
fluttering, twirling, swaying... lovely lass spoke
frolicking with the dahlias, beaming rose
butterflies kissed flowers around soaring oak .
doting warmth of precious friends gleefully close
tranquil village-path, starlit sky, the moon shines
murmuring river flows...jubilation shows .
tender love bloomed, witnessed by silver tall pines
hamlet in memory encircled by vines !
