I Must Be Strong
"I carry your heart with me(I carry it in my heart)I am never without it"
Quote _ by E.E. Cummings
Strange that after three long months from her sudden death,
I began to feel a backlash of emotion.
My boat was steady then; now I feel out of breath.
Calm seemed the blue seas, now I drown in an ocean.
I cannot forget the smoothness of her smooth skin,
Nor forget the fragrance of lavender washed hair,
She bore her old aches and pains with resilient grin.
For now, that she's gone forever what can we share?
Memories come and go, many an idle dream.
Verdant valleys, wide spaces where picnics were held,
Not far from where a weeping willow kissed the stream.
Full of tears now fill my heart, a yearning I've quelled.
I must be strong, alone the future I must face,
But now I know I'm not alone, I have God's grace.
