Poetry for the bridal shower can add a touch of elegance and emotion to the celebration. Short, heartfelt poems can express well-wishes for the bride-to-be and her future. Including poems that celebrate love, friendship, and new beginnings can create a warm and memorable atmosphere for the special occasion. Guests can take turns reading poems aloud, making the bridal shower a more intimate and meaningful gathering.
Parody of Hey Diddle Diddle
Hey diddle diddle
The dog did a piddle
Right in front of the groom
The bride’s dress was sprayed
But she wasn’t dismayed …
He’s a guest of the bride and the groom!

Rose of White
Slowly dancing in the wind, swaying as to music
Rocking like a ship at sea to the whims of air and water
Her face shone bright with the tears of heaven
By consorts of every shape and hue, this elegant lady stood
White on white, her gown shown among those dressed in like manner
Looking upward, she opened to the rising sun

Vows
When ones take a vow on the altar,
They are not just making a promise,
They are making a bond.
They are making a shield if one gets in trouble.
They are a beacon if one is in danger.
They are a shoulder to lean on if one cries.
They will not quit on each other, even when the chips are down.
They praise one’s strengths and respect their weaknesses.
They talk about problems.
In other words, they are one.
Cliches
Seduced by clichés of love,
We signed on for wedding doves,
Being at those wedding receptions,
All clichés of norms' conventions,
Having a cream puff wedding day,
Was an expensive way of getting laid,
All clichés for the bridal industry,
Trite cant and hypocrisy,
BUT--the appliances outlived everyone!!
Wedding gifts when once were young,
On film noir weddings I ponder on,
As golden years I wander on,
All that phony hypocrisy,
Cliches and norms of society,

Modern Wedding Wakers
Modern Weddings Wakers
My passion is poetry,
To write is my special gift- created or imagined;
Know marriage is not a laughing matter ,
Wedding is not a joke , for it can generate great laughter.
It is the crux of a life of beauty;
It is the quiet sounds of fulfillment.
Wedding In Cana Galilee
There was a Wedding in Cana Galilee
Jesus was there
The Mother of Jesus was there
The Disciples were also invited
The wine ran short
His mother said “They ran out of wine”
Jesus said to her
“Woman, how does your concern affect me?”
My hour has not come
His mother said to the waiters “Do whatever He tells you”
There were six stone water jars there
Fill the jars with water
Draw some and take it to the headwaiter
The water became wine and they were happy
Welcome
This is a waste of thought,
Things life never thought,
Where is your faceless bride?
Her I'd welcome inside,
She'll rescue you from your rut,
Here's your tea, suck that up!
The faceless bride, tee hee,
She'll rescue you from me,
My torrid non-embrace,
Welcome bride, faceless face!
Something life never taught,
Stop wasting my thoughts!
