Contest Description
In FOURTEEN LINES OR LESS, write a me poem, from the point of view of a star. This is a personification contest so YOU are the star! (And just to be clear, I mean the massive nuclear fireball kind of star, not the Hollywood kind of star.)
I like big ideas, originality, quirkiness, humour and mind-blowing science (probably not all those things in one poem however!) I like free verse if done well but I also have a big place in my heart for good rhythm and rhyme. You don't have to use a rhyming dictionary - slant rhyme works fine for me.
Rules:
No clichés - please be original!
Dont give away your identity by using your signature formatting or footer style.
New poems only.
No prose poetry, haibun or acrostic.
No archaism. You are a twenty first century star!
No politics or religion.
I will only give prizes to poems which, in my humble opinion, are stand-out pieces of work. This may mean I give less than ten places.
