This is a Standard Contest
This is my encore performance of my Six-Word Couplet Series Contest that was just judged and finalized. Why an encore performance? The contest entry total for the first contest was reached two weeks before the deadline, an indicator that more could have entered the contest if the entry level number was higher. Also, the quality of the poems submitted were excellent, but I could only place 10 because it was a Premier Contest. More of these fun, diverse and inspirational poems can be displayed in a Standard Contest. Please note the following:
- If you didn’t get a chance to enter my first contest, this will be your opportunity to do so.
- If you submitted a six-word couplet series to my first contest but didn’t place, you can resubmit that same six-word couplet series to this contest. Or you can choose to submit a different couplet series. Either way, your encore performance!
- If you submitted a six-word couplet series to my first contest and placed, you must submit a different couplet series to enter this contest. In other words, your encore performance!
Definition: A Six-Word Couplet Series is a series with a total of at least 6 (each) Six-Word Couplets, consisting of 2 lines each, 3 words per line (with any number of syllables) and the last word of each line must rhyme (aa). Some or all of the Six-Word Couplets can have similar or different themes, but each couplet must have its own title listed on the line immediately above the couplet.
Here are links to my Six-Word Couplet Series Contest that was just judged and my personal Six-Word Couplet Series poems so you can get an idea of what I'm looking for. If you don't want to click on the links, simply go to my poems and look for the date and title shown, or go to my Six-Word Couplet Series Contest results to see the winning entries for the first contest.
Please follow these rules carefully:
1. Submitted poem form must be a couplet.
2. Submitted poem's title must only be "Six-Word Couplet Series Encore” (the title must be exact, no more and no less).
3. Each Six-Word Couplet Series Encore poem must be formatted per the definition above.
4. Some or all of the Six-Word Couplets can have similar or different themes, but each of the Six-Word Couplets in the series must have its own title listed on the line immediately above the couplet. (Please see my example links listed above.) In my examples, each title is in bold font since it differentiates the title from the couplet, but bold font is not required. It does look better though :) ***
5. Put the date, contest title and name of sponsor after the poem.
6. Please use Spell Checker before submitting the poem.
*** I've been asked to explain how to make text bold. Type before the
text you want to be bold, and after the text. Here's an example of
how to create your six-word couplet with a bold title:
