Contest Description
What to Submit?
Choose a color and imagine yourself as that color. 4 to 10 lines, write about yourself as that color. Your title needs to be this: I am (the name of the color) For example: I am Purple (You do not have to incorporate the title into the poem, but it should be obvious you are describing yourself as the color you have chosen)
You could use any form that suits you. I would suggest a quatrain or two, a quintain or two, a marvelous free verse (I do not like lines that appear very long), 3 to 5 couplets, etc.
This time, I do NOT want to see Asian forms or limericks in this contest.
I pay attention to how well you write in the form that you are using, and I love when poets use cleverness and/or beauty to make their poem appealing to me. Please no AI and no using older poems of yours that I would have seen in any of my older contests) That's it. Have fun!
Preparing Your Entry
Submit one copy of your poem online. Format your poem. Please make your entry easy to read — no illustrations or fancy fonts.
English Language
Poems should be in English. Poems translated from other languages are not eligible, unless you wrote both the original poem and the translation.
