Andrea's Imagine Yourself as a Color Contest ~ 8/13/25

Each night in the heavens I am reprised. On darkest evenings, I am not disguised. The beauty of my color is greatly prized. I am a blend of blue-violet ~ Indigo skies. In the deepest shade of my lovely hue, I am a calming balm when you feel blue. Moonlight's glow will enhance your view of me before sunlight dries morning dew. I will reappear as twilight yields to night~ the background for stars, flickering bright.

O, you just get in there and do ‘indigo’. There was me thinking blue, red, green etc… I guess now I’m gonna have to imagine myself as aquamarine, vermillion or…. buttermilk. Has to be said, you’ve done indigo proud. A likely contender in the contest. Now… what rhymes with ‘beige’?

Don’t bother with beige. It’s much too mundane for a poet with your imagination. Choose a color that has more depth, like sanguine. One of my bloody favorites. Many thanks for the kindness of your remarks, Terry!

You did it and you did it well, you imagined yourself a color and turned it into a more than beautiful poem. I've got nothing, how is a Libra suppose to pick a color when 'she's' never even picked a favorite color? So, I've been lifelong stuck on that issue, though I did love the midnight blue crayon as a child. You did yourself proud with this write. Poetry hugs ... CayCay
