Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival - a soup winner!

For those of you not around a few months ago, I hosted a cherry blossom haiku contest and encouraged all entrants to submit their haiku to the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival, a contest held once a year.

Well one of our own soupers, Andrea Deitrich, received an Honorable Mention in this contest! So a big CONGRATS to Andrea for her poem:

sipping saki
under the sakura tree…
a haiku blossoms

wow, Susan, this is sure a surprise your announcing this!! I want to thank YOU for drawing my attention to that contest. It would never have entered my mind to try such a thing if it had not been for your fun contest and your encouragement when I had problems submitting my poem into that contest. WWWAAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! RIGHT ON! Andrea, just awesome, hon! No wonder it won.. and as you'd say, THAT is the way it is done. The AHA is delightful. HEY SUSAN, what a sweetie you are to inspire this, redirect your contestants and then showcase the winner. You're just a gem... and there you go, folks. Soup has some major talent.
