Tail Rhyme Winner's List Explained

Out of the 50 entries I received, only 36 entries were tail rhymes or close to it.

A big KUDOS to those of you who did the form correctly! However, I wanted to explain that not all of the entries placed were tail rhymes by the syllable count, but were placed anyway because I felt that everyone made an effort to do it. It's not easy to learn a new form and it can be hard to say everything you want to in 6 lines, so I went easy on the judging and placed by simply what I liked best. You can choose to disagree with this approach, but I want to encourage people, not discourage them. I know in a recent contest I was off a syllable in one line of my poem and I would have been upset had the judge disqualified me for it, when it was a simple oversight. We all make mistakes and we are all learning here. That's about it.

Thanks for sponsoring the contest and thanks for placing me on your list of winners....it was my first attempt at this style of poetry. I must say, it sounded easier than it was. I have no problem with your judging style....but thanks for explaining....I had wondered about syllable counts in some. I agree it is better to encourage writers. God Bless and Congrats to all the winners...I think I've read them all and commented !!!
