Happy Monday, everyone! :)
I just want to outline some common errors I've noticed in the entries for my contest. For the most part, these errors are very easy to correct, so I want to give everyone the opportunity to review and/or correct their entries before the contest is finalized.
Errors in spelling or grammar (especially verb agreement) - Spelling and grammar are extremely important to me when I judge contests, so make sure you proofread! I will take into account the differences between American and Canadian/British spelling (i.e. honor vs. honour), so don't worry about that.
Multiple dodoitsu verses - I only want one dodoitsu. If you include more than one, you will not place in my contest (regardless of how much I like your entry).
Incorrect syllable count - I've noticed many people (probably unintentionally) trying to pass off three-syllable words as two-syllable words. I've never used the PS syllable counter, but I have heard it's pretty terrible, so please use a different syllable counter if you need to use one. If it isn't obvious to me that you have used the 7-7-7-5 syllable scheme, you won't place (regardless of how much I like your entry).
As always, if you have any questions at all, you can ask them in the comments below or send me soupmail. I am always happy to help!
