New Contest: Winter Dodoitsu

Hi fellow Soupers!

I've decided to embrace winter (which is looming on the horizon here in Canada) by hosting a winter-themed contest, which will hopefully inspire many of you to write an original dodoitsu (a form I haven't seen around here in ages). I've pasted the details below - please check it out and let me know if you have any questions!

 

What to Submit?

1 original DODOITSU on the theme of WINTER.

New poems only. Please add the date at the bottom of your poem. NO names.

Since this form of poetry is short and restrictive, try to impress me by packing in as much imagery as possible. Bonus points for using literary devices such as alliteration, personification, simile, and metaphor.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with this form, here is an example (one that I wrote awhile ago):

 

Silver dunes mimic the moon,
Curving in peaceful crescents
Toward the sea's endless depths
To embrace darkness.

I have enjoyed this form in the past and am glad to see you doing a contest that is not too difficult. My muse is very unproductive this week and so I find THIS challenge one that might perk it up!! reading your example, it must be 7775. I could not remember. I just know there are lots of my fave numbers 5 and 7 in this form!!
