ABOUT ME : Late babyboomer Canadian born in the beautiful Eastern Townships of Quebec, and raised in Northern Ontario. Fell in love with Ottawa where I received my B.A. with a major in french literature. Still living in Ottawa, I'm finding out that oncoming golden years offer a very rich perspective on life and beauty.

The themes of my poetry are found in everyday life. I write mostly free verse but I'm also a member of Haiku Canada and have had haiku published in various anthologies.

Please visit often my growing collection of poems and I hope you find many will resonate with you. I'd love to hear your comments.

By the way, my name is pronounced Lynn, and my avatar is an ink painting I created on rice paper years ago. The symbol means PLAY - something I have finally learned to do in later years and poetry is definitely my favorite form of play.

I want to thank Team PoetrySoup for hosting the Coronavirus COVID-19 poetry contest ~ the fact that they are about to reach a participation level of 250 submissions speaks to the fact that people feel very strongly (in their own time) about voicing their thoughts, fears and compassion in these unprecedented times. We are living through historical times and, in the big picture, our input is actually ground zero testimony ~ the world being our global village. In twenty years from now~ people will not be able to imagine how we felt going through this incredible pandemic.

Nice blog, Line. Yes, it is weird to me that so few people seem to be entering contests, but TPS does a contest on the virus, and suddenly the website is flooded with these poems. I have only read maybe four of them!! Must be lots of people I do not know writing them.

Life finds a way ... as does LOVE. We shall overcome ... together - very strange times that require us to isolate on personal levels, and yet come together on a GLOBAL level that we have never seen before - it will be a trial for sure, but MUCH good will come of it in the long run. Blessings.

Line, At a time when parents and grandparents are standing at their front door talking to their adult children and their grand children who are at the end of their walkway or driveway and shouting I love you without being able to hug them...some think that's acceptable emotional collateral damage we should just shrug off, but I say as you have said here that it is something we shall not soon forget.

Yes Line, the very young will not remember but we certainly will and those old enough for this to have touched them or their friends and family. Things like 9/11 etc are like yesterday. It will even touch some that aren't born yet, like the children of every tragic event that were born afterward. Sometimes it is more tragic to lose something you never had and can only wish for but, yes, most will only read about it and perhaps something written will help them feel like they were here.

Sadly, it is not over yet. There are still millions of lives that will be affected. I noticed today China is being reinfected in different parts of that country. Most folks don't realize the original name for this virus was SARS2 and most folks don't know they never found a vaccine for SARS1 and that was in 2002. We can only hope
