Arthur Vaso

Arthur Vaso is a Canadian poet, born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. He has had his works published in local papers/magazines as well as on many Web sites. He has traveled extensively around the world, and writes about a wide variety of topics.

It has been 18 months since PoetrySoup Chat was started by the BAFFIN GROUP LLC, and one year since arthurvaso.com took over the chat. As BaffinGroup closed, I thought it would be a shame to lose such a great social media site.

We now have over 100 registered users and people coming from all different venues, not only poetry but also artistic and photography sites. It has been a great way to showcase the poets of PoetrySoup, and a great way for people of different talents to hook up, meet, interact, and collaborate.

Many may not know but there are different rooms for different topics, and we have even included a News Feed channel. The Chat rooms are moderated by three IRC moderators who are not from soup, but help

ensure the rooms are always pleasant and basically a soft place to land and feel safe.

NEW FEATURE

Starting in July 2017, we have added a new feature, POEM OF THE DAY! Yes we shall be selecting a poem of the day, ( although maybe not every day ) from the vast collection of amazing poets and poems on poetrysoup.com. Our selections will be from both current and older poetry, to expose some of PoetrySoup’s older postings.

The poem of the day will basically be a link in the chat room title to a PoetrySoup poem, whereas below, like Soup, you shall see a list of past selections with links to Poetrysoup!

Sure do wish I had the time to take part in this, ARthur. It's all I can do to keep up with the ordinary stuff of writing and Poetrysoup. This is a lovely blog.
