LIFE IS SHORT

It's not
as if you have
a choice in the matter,
but if you leave a poem
it's enough.

So sweet that she kept it all these years. I imagine it meant as much to her as it does to you now. I didn’t know of your loss but in this small way she gave you her love and admiration. Hugs

what a delightful experience. My folks grew up in the Depression; as a result, they never threw anything away...in case they might need it someday. Going through their home was an arduous task with occasional surprises.

As a 40's child it was 'waste not want not' way of life ...hence the attitude of your Mum Chetta.A very different world then for those of us of that generation.

This is a lovely poem, Chetta, I think it must be really emotional for you to clear out her things, but it's good to find such nice surprises:)

While I would much rather have Mom with me still, we are finding many family “treasures,” such as a photo of my grandmother from about 1923. I had never seen it before.

How fun to find this old poem you didn't have any more. I really like it, Chetta . I don't suppose our individual styles change that much even after a few decades.
