LIFE IS SHORT

It's not
as if you have
a choice in the matter,
but if you leave a poem
it's enough.

A new (to me) word: inosculation

Ahh!! The book," The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks and resulting movie tells of a couples' love and how they want to die at the same time and do. Glad you shared this information with us. Sara K.

Love the blog - Love "new" thoughts and, ironically I might add that (because I've worked with wood) that the stressed/damaged/joined or otherwise affected part of a tree can be the most interesting and beautiful when sawn into furniture but (especially the joined part) is usually the most fragile---multiple metaphors?

In the Australian bush trees have seemingly felt other trees nearby. It is also known that fungi (the mycellium) is the conduit between trees. Many terrestrial orchids rely on this symbiotic relationship to both have seeds germinate and to grow. Many times this is a different fungi. It is believed in many cultures that trees talk to each other. I have observed many eucalypt tree intertwined with another. A few are definitely a heart shape - true love in nature.

This would definitely make a beautiful metaphor in poetry/story writing. I heard a very interesting program once about how trees also communicate with each other and they use the ground fungi in this connection too. This is in forested set ups. But its down to also to the roots system. Stong in a storm together. :-D ... what touching imagery your information would make though :-D

One of my favorite discoveries is Limerence => which is an intense state of romantic infatuation marked by obsessive thoughts, idealisation of another person, without expecting a strong desire for their feelings to be returned. It is beyond infatuation and lasts longer. Often appearing suddenly. Psychologist Dorothy Tennov coined the term in 1979 after interviewing hundreds of people about love, distinguishing this overwhelming experience from other forms of affection. Tennov concluded that limerence is a common, though often irrational, aspect of being "madly in love," with later research suggesting that around half of all people experience it at some point.

This is a lovely blog. I have a back yard tree that started out an ornamental cherry willow but over time, the beautiful pink blossoms each spring have become more and more white. I believe another type tree either overpowered the cherry willow or maybe the cherry willow has vanished completely becoming this new one with white blooms. I wonder if there is a word for vanishing another tree. The love story myth you showed hereabout enduring love is really nice
