Chetta Achara Biography

Chetta is the nom de plume of Deborah Guenther Beachboard a poet writing since 1992. Her poetry has been published in Modern Haiku, Sijo West, Amaze: The Cinquain Journal, Short Stuff, Twilight Ending and numerous other online and in print journals.

After taking a 10 year hiatus from writing (for reasons not interesting enough to share) Chetta returned to writing, most recently having poetry published in Periwinkle Pelican, Puddick, Stygian Press, Snoozine, and Sweet Smell.

Chetta makes her home in the Adna Valley in southwest Washington in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

LIFE IS SHORT

It's not
as if you have
a choice in the matter,
but if you leave a poem
it's enough.

Finding Poetry By Accident 2

If you are a fan of the game show Jeopardy you already know Dargan Ware. If not, he is, among other things, a poet (which is why I chose to post a blog about this most interesting gentleman).

Mr. Ware became Jeopardy champion on October 17 and again on the 20th. He was dethroned on the 21st after playing an excellent and exciting game.

According to his biography on Bhamwiki.com Mr. Ware worked as a truck driver before deciding to pursue law. The University of Alabama School of Law was the highest-ranking program to offer him a scholarship. He served as articles editor for The Alabama Law Review and graduated summa cum laude in 2013. He spent a year as a clerk for Judge Scott Coogler and then joined the firm of Davis & Norris.

As a writer, Mr. Ware has had poems published in several journals, and has self-published two novels on Amazon. He is president of the Alabama State Poetry Society. He and his current wife Kristi were married in February 2018.

Testament

Don’t let them cut me off,
chemically castrate my molecules,
replace my organic parts with poison,
confine my nutrients to a casket.

Mix my body with the mountainside
to feed the wildflowers in springtime.
Let my legacy perfume the air.
Read my testament in the burgeoning blooms.
