down vast beauty light
in morning dawn
crest before my eyes

For autumn rain has gone
sparking light of silver grace
now lay peaceful strokes
on hillside of new day

Each thought still remain
in splashed hues of poetic verse
a quenching bath of love
upon soft sky of birth

What to Submit? One Tanka Nature Poem Inspired By My Poem Located On The Contest Page.

Definition

A Japanese poem of five lines, the first and third composed of five syllables and the others seven. In Japanese, tanka is often written in one straight line, but in English and other languages, we usually divide the lines into the five syllabic units: 5-7-5-7-7.

Autumn

 

beauty has fallen

painting the pastel of love

in a breath of fire

below the bare heights of mist

Autumn's tapestry lies strewn

Cleanzing Rain Of Love

 

on the ocher drape
in bent shadow light crawling
a warm springtime flux
drenching souls in purity
lies a simple love flower

__________________________________
Another Day

empty rusted swing
upon the rain drenched stoop 
sways in broken light

a silhouette of you
forever etched in my mind

Syllables, syllables, dancing in my head -- 5, 7, 5 ... 7 + 7 -- thus, a tanka is fed. ;-) Don't mind me, I've just been up too long!

Bit confused Rick, your Poem is about flight, and to be used as inspiration will undoubtedly lead to a lot of tanka's about flight, yet your blog says " nature" are you assuming people will put flight in the same box as nature? ...unless it's butterflies and bees
