Don't be silenced by the bully

Blog Posted:5/7/2009 4:04:00 PM
Cowards are cruel, but the brave Love mercy, and delight to save. Author: John Gay........ Bullies are always cowards at heart and may be credited with a pretty safe instinct in scenting their prey. Anna Julia Cooper ........... ~ A lot of people are afraid to tell the truth, to say no. That's where toughness comes into play. Toughness is not being a bully. It's having backbone. Robert Kiyosaki ................. Stand up and let your voice be heard then the bully will retreat to his rightful place......the empy corners of his heart. Chris Higgins.

There is another person inside the bully. One crying out for help and compassion, whose voice is silent. While on the shoulder of the bully there's a red person, with a horn, tail, and a fork whispering into one ear while the other is blocked. Getting rid of the little red devil of the shoulder certainly would help bring the bully back to God's fold of loving people. Great job! ~Joseph

You've got a lot of support here Chris and rightly so. Bullies need to be stood up to. I just can't understand those that take delight in being cruel. Take care. Karen

I agree with you Chris, bully's are cowards in disguise. I read a book once called "How to Deal With Difficult People" The Tank, The Sniper, The Grenade, The Know it All, The Yes Person, The Maybe Person, the Nothing Person, the No Person, The Whiner, and guess what ..The Bully..all kinds of tips on how to deal with these assorted misfits but backing down is not one of them, in all cases, the message is to hold tight and the bully, sniper, tank, or whatever will slither away soon enough...

You are, without doubt, one of the wisest people I've ever known. Your words on many subjects inspire us. When Mark Antony said, "The evil that men do lives after them; the good is oft' interred with their bones," he was talking about the "bullies" who turned on Caesar and took his life. We would all be well advised to ensure bullies endure the same suffering they cause.

Apathy might be worse than the bully. The bully is a coward who preys on the weak and the meek. Apathy is being killed from within. It wasn't the bully who screwed up this country, it was the apathetic. Nice to see you on the blogs again, Christopher. Vince

Christopher, thanks for the big love on my poem, first of all, and secondly, let me just say, one more time - thank God for knights in shining armor: word armor/ heart armor/love armor, to shed light on those who may or may not feel strong enough to stand up. This all reminds me of the real slim shady...please stand up...please stand up...please stand up! lol XO love, and two more heart-pounds for ya, peace, K

Corinne, wish I saw the Oprah show...it would have given me some insight on how to deal with this pest...the bully slithers along the soup..a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I see, dear Christopher, on your very own bio....it says.."Heroes: Anyone who ever stood up for injustice..." Well....my friend...you could easily be your very own hero....! But if you don't see it for yourself...let me say it for you...you are one each time you speak for the underdog...be it in your blog...or in your amazing, passionate poetry!

I'm guessing you saw Oprah's show the other day on children who had been bullied on a daily basis and committed suicide. They're not just being bullied at school, but cyber-bullied. The thing is that schools often don't intercede and just tell the bullied one to "ignore it" - Why aren't the bullies - and their parents - called to account? You can see it in our culture - Sarcasm and making fun of people is humor.
