The Young Poet

English painter and illustrator, Arthur Hughes 1832-1915 was associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. His most conspicuous traits were his modesty and self-effacement. In 1849 at seventeen years of age, he painted a self-portrait that demonstrated remarkable maturity and ability. A half shadowed face, a background painted with great delicacy and an appealing arched top was considered that of an expert. Hughes paintings were often done in greens and mauves. I’ve read poems posted by young poets with exceptional creative ability at PoetrySoup and I admire their natural talent too.
This is an everybody thank you meant for the PoetrySoupers who critique and read the blogs, comments, and poetry written by me. I appreciate your encouragement and interest, it’s helping me become the best writer I can be, and for that I am much obliged. Have a peaceful, creative day filled with blessings! _Caryl
