I didn't start writing poetry until 2023. I had written a few songs and I guess that's how I got started. I've always wanted to be a writer... because I enjoy reading so much. I consume at least one book per week. That and studying the Bible are my favorite pass times. I was ordained as a Non-denominational Christian minister in 2020.

I also play the ukulele a little, sing a little, love crafting, sewing, cooking, and any kind of art. I've been in childcare and early education for 30 years and have 2 of my own. My husband, Harvey, and I are blessed with a daughter, Rosie, now 18 years old! And our son, Hunter, who lives in Heaven.

Reminder:Same Poem, Different Form Contest: Entered? PLEASE READ!

Hello again, PS neighbors! :)

I'd like to ask all those who have entered or plan to enter this contest to please read this carefully.

I've received such outstanding poetry thus far, and I'm so humbled that those of you with more experience and much more talent than I, dain to allow me to judge your work! Thank you! It is just this kind of community spirit that draws me to this neighborhood.

That said, PLEASE MAKE CERTAIN YOU HAVE ENTERED TWO POEMS TOGETHER IN ONE ENTRY!! This contest/challenge is about transforming an already written free verse poem, into a different form...(ie. haiku, Sonnet, Acrostic, etc...)

There are several wonderful free verse poems entered with no other poem/ form. If you've made this error, there is still time to correct it and re-enter. The poems should be entered together, in one entry, separated by a few spaces and the name of the form you've written in... free verse for the first poem and the "form of your choice" for the second.

Visit my poetry, and select, "Vulnerable ", to see the formatting if not the content. You should also let me know which of the themes you've chosen to inspire your writing. Simply add the theme to the form label you place before each poem. Example:

#1. TITLE/ FREE VERSE/ KINDNESS

#2. TITLE/HAIKU OR RHYME OR SONNET/ KINDNESS

Once again, the themes are...

1.Vengeance

2.Forgiveness

3.Kindness

4. Indifference

5.Moderation

6. Indulgence

7.Humility

8.Pride

9.Vulnerability

10.Security

I hope that cleares up any confusion and you'll re-enter if need be. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THIS CONTEST!

Questions?? Please soup mail and I'll look at it asap.<3<3

Just to clarify (in my mind): When you say "title (optional)" in your contest description, do you mean a title of our choice, or is it optional to have it as part of the heading to each of the two poems? For example, (in the Poem Textbox) may I "title" the two poems (without numbering them): Free verse:Pride; and, Sonnet:Pride ...? Also, there are many sub-devisions of the second poetic form, sonnet (over 100) and they are all lumped together under one heading here at PS, as are a number of other forms, eg Rhyme, etc. Lastly: May the title of the Composition differ from the titles (if used) of the 2 poems? Thank you.

Titles are up to you...I can't think of a reason to make rule about that. So your choice! Thanks again!

The form just needs to be general I guess... just as log as I can read about it's format and rules and see if those were followed in your poem. Hope that helps to clarify! Thanks Suzette

I believe there's some rule about writing the title of your poem in the poem text box, so that part is optional... you need not write the title in the poem text box. I do, however, need to know the form your using and theme... so please label each poem with form and theme. Title is optional.

Just to be crystal clear, the second poem does not have to be those in my example... it can be ANY FORM in the PS listing. Ty!!<3
