I didn't start writing poetry until 2023. I had written a few songs and I guess that's how I got started. I've always wanted to be a writer... because I enjoy reading so much. I consume at least one book per week. That and studying the Bible are my favorite pass times. I was ordained as a Non-denominational Christian minister in 2020.

I also play the ukulele a little, sing a little, love crafting, sewing, cooking, and any kind of art. I've been in childcare and early education for 30 years and have 2 of my own. My husband, Harvey, and I are blessed with a daughter, Rosie, now 18 years old! And our son, Hunter, who lives in Heaven.

Same Poem Different Form Results

Hey Y'all! I saw some other sponsors who did this and since I liked hearing about their contests,I thought I'd do the same.

Same Poem Different form contest process and results.

Results were posted this morning. I widdled it down to 13 winners of first, second, and third place. It wasn't easy! There were so many awesome poems, so I had to disqualify if, 1.) There was no second poem written in a different form, 2) The second form was not labeled/I couldn't judge if it was done correctly without knowing what form you were trying, 3.) No theme/ no subject was chosen,or if it was, it was not labeled, 4.) And finally, the two poems were completely different or the form you chose was done incorrectly.

I then judged the remaining poems by, 1.) All the rules/ directions were followed,2.) The first and second poem were basically the same, 3.) The degree of difficulty/ rarity of the second form, 4.) Creativity, 5.) I reacted to the poems in some emotional or visceral way, 6.) I personally enjoyed the poem.

I hope everyone that participated enjoyed the challenge and had fun! For those who didn't make it to the winners round, please know how difficult it was for me to decide, and to disqualify any poem.

Congratulations to all the winners! I appreciate your support and interest in this contest!

BTW, I am loving how these contests are anonymous to the judges until winners are already chosen. I was introduced to PS members I hadn't yet met! It was exciting to finally see who the authors are!!

Sincerely, with gratitude, Your Neighbor, Crystol

Congrats to the winners. Just saw your recent blog and was astounded by what someone said to you. Unbelievable. Don't let people get to you. It is your personal choice how you judge.
