ADDRESS OF POETRY - Part 4

SOURCES. ***********
1.  To state first: FOUND poetry.  re. fragments as collected from, say, notes, journals; news, magazines, letters, dialogues, etc. This became popular in 1970’s w/Bob Dylan mastering this.
2.  COMBINED poetry.  Not sure that’s right name.  It is a work created by more than one poet.
THEN WE RECEIVE INSPIRATION FROM:
3.  the big one, GOD, however you name him, it, her
4.::the COLLECTIVE UNCONSCIOUS.  so mysterious to us, yet, how this works.  In my own life, I have seen evidence of this as an idea for something “new” has come, then discover the same thing all over about a week later.
5.  MEMORIES  as they rush up by themselves, or are sought, or are detailed by our other writing, people , diaries, etc. example: today I woke to snowfall&, oh, I recall last time it snowed...blah blah...
6.  THE NOW.  THINGS IN THE IMMEDIATE @# they are affecting you (or others) which give rise to an urge for poetic description, documentation, etc.
7.  SOCIAL & CULTURAL STIMULI you feel need comment, description, parody, etc.  This category includes perspectives on history, like my
PLEASE COMMENT ON THESE AS THEY PERTAIN TO YOU. AND. ADD TO THIS LIST

I learned for sure in my Pet Poem First Dog Blake, that I have a lot in me of being stubborn! And my poem What She Said, brought me to know I RESPOND TO A DARE, which explains why all I have to do (if at a loss for inspiration) is listen to the New Yorker Poetry Podcasrs. On it, there are interviews with their published poets, which are excellent really, but so much blah blah about learning creative writing at Yale this or Harvard that & hanging out with celebrity poets 1 & 2 who, that as soon as it ends a poem rises wang to prove it can excel without that background — seen as a dare & taken.

Sally, we can learn a lot from published poets for sure but writing is something that dwells inside of a poet, we see and hear everything in terms of poetry, we can develop our own unique style of writing, even create our own forms _Constance

Sally, I get my inspiration from all your items listed, we never know when or how it will happen, so we must have pen and paper handy, even when we venture out, for the inspiration can be fleeting and will float away, fading and we cannot get it back, so as poets, with our minds open, we must be ready to grasp it... everything I see, and feel becomes a poem in the making within my mind, and makes me crazy until I can put it to paper with a sigh _Constance

Yes! Yes! So true for most of us, Constance. Since my reopening, as begun with Charlie & the poem I showed in Blog 1, my poems most often send me a first line & I have to get it down immediately so the rest may flow. Jim gets upset cause the sparks will come often mid dinner haha. My brain doesn’t stop these days, seeking all prompts like a periscope. I wonder if being older & having more powerful language at hand has anything to do with it?
