Can anyone tell me when a poem with lots of alliteration become classified on the PS list as Alliterative? Is there a quota or quorum? Hahaha feedback, please

Can’t help wishing more poets, and all, writers, would edit with a thesaurus & dictionary at their sides. I admit, I think anyway, that I am a classicist at heart. I love our VAST language & often use the 3rd definition over a 1st. Your thoughts?

Conjunctions and Prepositions have always fascinated me. Even since middle school I worked to memorize each of their long lists. But I think varying their use as needed in writing a poem is necessary & helpful. Your thoughts?

I worked at 21, for a fundamentalist publishing co, until it hospitalized me with a pre-ulcer. Did learn some things in the daily effort to be so so so Good. One was the difference, and there is one, between SOUL and SPIRIT. Ever think there was one?

Now, I am thrilled! Today I got my copy of the OXFORD THESAURUS FOR WRITERS. I think it ways more than I do! Let the memorizing begin!

My husband and I would share downtime playing one of the silly no-brainer computer games called 'candy crush saga' I think it was. We invented a victory shout 'shugga wugga' every time we won a level and would move on. Even if we were across the room we could share in the celebration. Being silly was part of the joy of our everyday life. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share this sweet memory ~

Enjoyed the warm story. Did you ever somehow fit into a poem?

Sally, another wonderful blog. For me the fascination for words started when I was young, my fav place to meander was the library, I could spend the day there picking up a book, reading a bit and moving on, I have always been fascinated with dictionaries, and love going to second hand book stores to find old ones to add to my vast collection. I have always loved E.E. Cummings poetry and style of writing and he loved to make up words wonderlicious and I often have too _Constance

Constance! E.E. Cummings was inspiration for the first poem I got published, not my 1st poem. Been looking for it to post it on ?S. I also was AHeavy into Joyce & Sam Beckett for their belief in language “writing itself on into absurdity. I wrote Beckett & he handwrote me back!

What a fun word you made up, Sally! I like plenipotentiary and serendipity. As I write some words just pop into my mind and I look them up to make sure I know what they mean.

YOU TELL ME SURreal/ What is imagination,/ what is real/ which idea / did I feel?/ Which was made up,/ what came from fear/ Who filled this pen/ with a colourless tear?/ Why do I laugh/ then often cry,/ Is this verse truth/ or impetuosity's lie?/ Do these word still/ clash and collide within,/ 'ere now my poem begins,/ Who lit this flame ?/ is it true art,/ or my mind game?/

Guess this says it all ,for me Sally a poem from 2011 (see next comment) I never made up a word but did apply one to my footle form which seemed to sum up the nature of my creation. My love of words prompted my first poem ,an alliteration circa 1996 (but thats another story)
