So after Many years (decades) I decided last week that I want to have a few of my works published in print mags and newspapers. Thus I googled the various sites to check their Submission Guidelines and SMACK! every one said no previously published wors would be considered, incuding even on a personal website. Yikes! This includes, say, Facebook.and PoetrySoup! Thus, dear sister & brother poets, 99.7% of everything I've written since 2019! Not everyone reads on-line creative writing, just as not everyone reads small press mag collections. I'd like to try submitting to smalll press, which published me in the '80's - '90's. Poetry Magazine (chicago) says "No previously published," as does the N Y Times. NY audience differs from calif audience. Presbyterian audience differs from Catholic. The same guideline, of course, applies to the on-line form of all print publications. WHAT IS DONE ABOUT THIS? Help please!
