Hi, folks,
Forgive my absence if I haven't commented on anyone's work for a while, but I didn't want to bump into anyone's entries for my contest and end up being a little biased.
Anyway, my fellow judge and I, (she being a trained nurse) have had a right old ding-dong judging this one- a couple of entries didn't fulfil the criteria of at least six body parts ( one had none at all), so she filtered them out before we finally read them. The quality of entries was superb, difficult to pick winners, but, and it is a lovely surprise to see the finalists, we were happy with our choice.
First place- Nature Lovers, Andrea Dietrich-
We both agreed that this was simply lovely, a poetic infusion of menthol, fresh and a little breathless.
Second place- Our beloved Lucy, Mystic Rose-
I was really surprised at this one, and I didn't expect it to be a Mystic piece,
we loved the style and rythmn, and at one point we turned it into a real tub thumper of a deep south song.
Such fun, a great little poem, love it.
Third place- New Love, Sandra Haight-
Such a gentle piece, and made an instant impact, and not knowing it was about a newborn until the end gave it an added welcome twist. It still makes me smile.
The three aforementioned all get a tenner ( ten english pounds) towards a bottle of wine, or chocolates or something. I apologise for the low exchange rate at present. Congrats to the other finalists, if I had the cash you'd all get some, but worthy placements all the same. A new contest starts later today and, frankly, it's gonna be tough.
Thanks, everyone, for entering.
Love 'n hugs,
