I saw a flower standing in a ray of weeds,
Beautiful, from afar, it seemed.
I stepped closer, heart filled with greed,
For I wanted that growing seed.
I tried picking it up, thorns poking my thin skin,
It pricked me, it hurt me, yet I still wanted to hold it,
Because it's beauty pulled me in.
I saw a girl, standing in a crowded room,
Her eyes gleamed, beautiful, she seemed.
I stepped closer, heart filled with love,
Yet my mind wanted me to go above.
And now I realise, I am that flower,
And she is the person holding it,
I hurt her, through my words, through my actions,
Yet she still holds me close.
But to her, the beauty of the flower is beyond compare,
Even if the flower can't see the same reflection anywhere,
It blooms, it gives light,
But inside, the flower isn't alright.
i love you and you know i would do anything for
you and it kills me that i know you wouldn't do
the same for me.
you’re all i have
please don’t leave me
i hate you for this
i hate that you’re the only thing keeping me alive
when whether i’m alive or not
truly means nothing in your universe
that i yearn to be a part of
your universe;
that which i crave to be
the dark night sky that scares you when you’re alone
the stars you smile at because they’re so beautiful
the moon that make you feel safe under that same dark sky
i want you to need me
as much as i need you
realising i’m nothing more than another person to you
kills me
i want it to kill you
it’s killing me
i want you to need me
i need you to want me
not of my own accord, don’t flatter yourself
i like the way she smiles, but all girls talk about each other like that
he smiles at the way i laugh, but frankly he’s just not my type
and i want to love a boy in the way i love the sea
but rather than falling in, i just kinda sink
is it supposed to feel this way? like im lost in a tidal wave
the current’s pulling back and forth
i feel i might snap in half, but when i look in her eyes everything seems fine
i want to love a boy the way i love the sky
i want got be in cloud nine, not just passing by
and i want to want him more than anything my heart wants
but when the truth comes out it’s the moon that he’ll find
i’ll never love a boy in the way i love the moon
so human, far, and flawed, everything i’d loose
in a boy’s eyes im nothing but a seed
maybe i’d like to sprout far from the sea
if tomorrow happens to be what ive waited so long for,
then my eyes might start to pour.
ill say yes,
although you already knew.
i never lost you,
only tried.
but not even once did my heart say goodbye.
ive tried letting go, tried to forget.
but something about you, your love,
my soul could not reset.
i still remember my cue,
to be held so safely.
held in your arms where i feel whole,
to rest my head, and calm my soul.
youll open your arms,
inviting me in, your love charms.
ill always run to you,
wrapping my arms around your neck,
tip toe-ing just to reach too.
you hold me so sweetly,
so safe,
so secure.
i refused every hug completely,
only desiring your safety.
when i lost you.
but i never truly lost you, did i?
you never truly left.
if you ask me the question ive been hoping for
ill say yes.
because its not starting over
if it never truly ended.
and maybe thats what love means.
to find the way back
to the same person
and knowing
it never ended
because
the relationship that wasnt ready to be over.
it just needed some work.
The more i try to push you out, the more my mind denied that
And as the days passed and nights grew i find your presence closer to me
So i spiral and question every possibility of us although it feels like a reach
I’m hopeless yet so hopeful and i’m so scared but so fearless when it comes to you
I know you’re looking the other way, still my eyes focus on you
i see the way you look at him,
holding his hand,
kissing him,
and i see you’ve been cursed.
cursed to love a man you never truly loved,
cursed to lose the girl who gave you butterflies.
if you were a boy,
you said, so many years ago,
i think i’d want to kiss you.
so unsure of yourself in your sentences
out of fear of being cursed with a life sentence
damnation, you said.
but how could a love so sweet be so wrong.
how cruel for a sixteen year old girl to hear these words,
i cut my hair,
i bound my chest,
i made myself a reflection of who the world wanted,
in order for us to be together.
i waited for you.
but time did not wait for us, my dear,
your parents laughed when you brought me home to meet them,
then their laughs turned to violence
when they saw us
said we were cursed,
laying with the devil
they turned your bright green eyes into
swollen shades of blues and purples.
now, nearly twenty years later,
i see you with him,
saccharine smiles,
absorbing his touch
like a reluctant sponge.
heartbreak is not nearly strong enough a word for this kind of pain.
my love,
we were never cursed,
the world was.
I cant help but ask why.
Why did she become my friend way back in year 12.
She was so funny, and kind, and perfect.
so perfect.
Why would she choose to spend time with me.
I wasn't fun.
I was quiet, and sad most of the time.
But she chose to stay with me.
A year has past and I'm still asking why.
Why did she kiss me after walking me home in the rain.
She's gorgeous and can get whoever she likes.
I've never met anyone like her.
She deserves the world,
and i will never understand why,
but in her eyes,
i am her world.
Your femininity/masculinity attracts me;?
Your steady strength supports me;
?Your tenderness sustains me;?
You’re the perfect love for me.
