My Wonderful Wife
Here — the one who bears the fruit of my loins.
Here — the cheerleader of my flawed bravado.
Here — the bearer of the yoke of my incessant brokenness.
Here — the moon that shines, irrespective of the season.
Here — the one true bridge between life and death.
Here — the one who foils the foul that confounds my soul.
Here — the woman who accepted the task of furthering my fate.
Cheers to you, my wonderful wife —
You are my anchor,
My light,
My forever.
The summer heat was turned up to blasting with a huge yellow sun looking down. Our sweat had sweat. If only there was a breeze to pass over us. In the mouth of desire sits July. A young couple is about to be wed. The groom all decked out in his black suit. The bride in her long wedding dress and veil. Family and friends gather to watch this union take place. They hang on every word as the vows are being said. Then the happy couple are pronounced husband and wife. In the mouth of desire a big kiss gets planted. Pictures are take, then off to the dinner.
Now we are married
July Fourth celebration
Anniversary
"Over the years we have soared hand in hand." By Poet
love
today
hand and hand
for me and you
will last forever
wishing life will go on
happy anniversary
a smile and big kiss just for you
life has been so very short for us
where did all the time go from young to old
you get home from a work
greeted with a smile
a hug and i'll hold you for a while
i'll ask how it's been
and you'll give me an answer
that's nothing short of true
we'll go to bed
and greet each other in the morning
rather than every blue moon
and i'll smile
knowing i can hold you again
even if it's only for a little while
you'll laugh
and i'll be reminded
how i love you so
talks of getting married
i promise
i won't ever go
you'll say thanks
for me doing a little chore
i'll say thanks
for loving me often
and loving me some more
I may not express it enough,
I hope you know I appreciate you.
There's so much you take care of,
And a million things you do.
There are even some things
That you do unknowingly,
As well as the big things,
Like always being there for me.
You never let me down and always
Answer any time I call your phone.
It doesn't matter day or night,
You let me know I'm not alone.
I'm blessed to have you in my life
And I'm very thankful I do.
You're the most amazing woman,
I truly love and appreciate you.
At every mention of your name,
Warmest thoughts in me abound.
My life has never been the same
Since my greatest love came ‘round.
Every time I hear your voice,
I get a “giddy” kind of glee.
I made the perfect choice,
Asking you to marry me.
Just by seeing your full name
On a letter or the mail,
Gives me joy I can’t explain
And makes me glad to be a male.
Yes, you are my greatest love
And I am forever changed.
This life, I’m so unworthy of
At every mention of your name.
I love you more today.
And I'll love you better than,
What lived and was acquired yesterday?
But still, I'll love you even more tomorrow,
With the richness of incomparable love!
I accept your love today.
I carried your love more than,
The day before the present day.
And yet, you still attain your love for me,
In fulfillment, no other can do.
My soul is yours,
And your spirit be it mine.
Were we meant together for this fortune?
A perpetual life together,
Melding and weaving as one.
I love you more, Shannon! R.I.P.
The merry-go-round lights
illuminate your face,
and
the mess of plastic that
passes for a fountain here
washes the noise of the
overpass.
You smile at me
and
not for the first time I am reminded
that we are in love.
Violent,
stupid,
arrogant
love.
We press our bodies into one
another exchanging heat
and
you laugh, like music.
You are my burial at sea.
The horizon my heart sails toward,
a chase that never stops.
Heather:
my wife, my partner,
my friend, my lover, my treasure.
She's the one who keeps me grounded;
she is my centre.
She is beautiful, smart, thoughtful, clever
and by any measure,
the smartest thing I ever did was wed her.
(Still not sure what I did to impress her!)
We met many years ago in a choir,
and as events would transpire,
she became my heart's desire.
When I thought of her,
my heart would soar higher.
I just knew I wanted to be beside her
and I've always known
my love for her will never tire.
We have been married for twenty-five years.
There's been lots of smiles and laughter and, yes, a few tears,
ups and downs in our careers,
lots of faith, occasional fears,
but our love...the deepest kind of love...perseveres.
See us.
Two hearts as one.
Still laughing through the rains;
Fifty-years growing together.
Je t'aime.
Chamois soft and diamond strong
kitten cute and tigress tough.
Childlike as a robin's song
and yet complex, strangely enough.
With you gone I always get antsy,
out of sorts and not-so-jingly.
With you here I feel romancey,
dancy, spry, and neck-hair-tingly.
The prize of your eyes a daily surprise
into their liquid grace I'm gazing.
You truly make our love lovely
and life's twisting maze amazing.
Like the fresh air a cool spring rain gave,
like a soak in a tension-soothing spa,
like spray from a warm Caribbean wave
you leave me in total ahhh.
// Celebrating Janet, my best friend and bride of 39 years //
"oh, I only said that for a joke"
She said, undoubtedly embarrassed
At my gratitude
If course she did,
How could she have come up with those words
Randomly,
Such a wonderful and beautiful compliment,
So much better than mine,
'i love you 'cos you're great'.
Carmen was too late,
She couldn't retrieve it
She'd sent it out to me,
I had caught it,
And sent it straight to you,
So much more deserving of it
Than I
'the world would be a better place
If everyone was you '
She said
To me
But probably meaning you.
Goodbye my love,
My wonderful wife Wendy.
Four and fifty Years Ago
By Franklin Price
11/21/2023
Four and fifty years ago
This day we swore our vows
To be together 'til we passed
No matter what, the wheres, the hows
Cancer and covid struck you down
Two and twenty months ago
Christ, in all his wisdom,
Took you from that awful flow
You are still within my heart
You are forever in my mind
You are looking down upon me
Have not left me far behind
When my days are also over
I will meet you at the gate
Then we will spend eternity
Jesus saved us for that fate
The smell of your perfume,
sweetens the evening air.
The sparkle of your eyes,
lay my emotions bare.
A hint of your laughter,
makes my heart skip a beat.
A kiss from your soft lips,
fills me with burning heat.
A slight touch of your skin,
will burn me like a fire.
A whispered “I love you,”
will ignite my desire.
Like seconds on a clock,
forty-eight years have flown.
Throughout all those years,
our love has only grown.
I’ve no poet’s words,
to say what it’s meant.
To know such happiness,
has to be heaven sent.
A diamond ring, upon my left finger
A token of love, to ever linger
Four decades, and six years
Have I been your wife
Vows spoken as teens,
A promise for life
Your love lifted me,
Higher and higher
Them embers still burn!
From young loves raging fire
My ring on your finger still shines
In loves light, I love you, my darling
You're still my delight!
I love you Jerry
My love for you goes
on and on Anon!
:)
Forever My Love
Your
