Blessing's Blaze

A radiant star was born one day,
Amidst salary challenges, hardship's sway,
Her parents toiled, their sweat and tears,
To forge a brighter future, calm all fears.

Like phoenix rising, she emerged anew,
Her choices bold, as if the world pursued,
Her watchword, determination, shone so bright,
Guiding her through life's turbulent, darkest night.

Risk-taking's lessons, though bitter, she did learn,
And from each scar, her strength did yearn,
Her work ethic, a symphony of might,
Diligence, dedication, beauty, shining bright.

Her name, a benediction, prayer, and creed,
A testament to her essence, noble deed,
As celestial choirs sing in celebration high,
May heaven's gates swing wide, her prayers reply.

May answers come, and greatness be her guide,
Empowering her soul, her heart's deepest tide,
For Blessing, a star that shines so bold,
A radiant light, that never will grow old.

And in her heart, a fire burns so free, igniting a soul that's unstoppable, wild, and carefree!

With every step, she paves her own way,
Through trials and tribulations, she'll face the day,
Unbroken, unbowed, her spirit will soar,
A true warrior, rising, forever more.

FADING LADY

She's a ****, she's not loyal.
I told her; you're only good for sex,
Not good to keep.
Don't let your beauty, leave you in deceit
You ain't getting younger, but older.

I ask her about
Her body counts.
She said,
Just thirty plus.
Thirty plus, still not taken?
You gotta change your mentality,
Or remain a sex tool or sex partner forever.

She's always seeking pleasures
From different guys.
Enjoy your life, when you're young
Her watchword
I asked her.
How long?
Will this continue!
She always have excuse,
The perfect answer she knows best.

IN MEMORIAM

How pure the joy in this man's life
How mighty till the end
His greatest work - his girl, his boy
Their father and their friend.

Yet sweeter still their children brought
Such laughter with their wiles
And Granddad rocked and shook his head
His visage wreathed in smiles

He truly was a friend to all
His watchword to be kind
No fancy talk from Yorkshire's son
Nor malice in his mind

And steadfast still the marriage made
His lady and her beau
Whose life we celebrate today
Dear heart we'll miss you so.

Adored, Revered, Unforgettable
Irreplaceable.

LOYALTY

Loyalty is not royalty or power
Being absolutely trustworthy
That others confide in you
Fearless of betrayals or denials
Sharing dreams and secrets
Without hesitating or pondering.

Loyalty binds companions
The bond that bind all together
Both the master and apprentice
The watchword of Nations
Without loyalty no establishments
Loyalty yields cooperation.

Where there's no loyalty
There's always competition
Where there's no competition
The people are civilized
They support each for the top
Loyalty dissolves tyrant
Never seen a dog bites it's owner.

My BROTHER

My brother my muse
Not to be use but love
My companionship
A friend like never
I always confide in thee
Just like my shadow
He never leave me
Through the thick and thin.

My Anchor when I'm down
Elevating without price
Replenishing me whenever
Mentally and emotionally drained
Bleeds with and for me
An attack on one of us
Is an attack on both of us
Unconditional love our watchword.

I've got so many brothers
But this is for my only brother
From my mother's womb
Profit Obaroyeregbe
To be Precise
Dna and genes verified
My amazing sibling
Always leaving me amused
We're the offspring of our ancestors.

Dawn births David’s promise in my heart where your pure love abides
Aroma of Emmanuel, Morning's Star, God with me, The Word
Yahweh’s welcome, eternal teddy bear with arms opened wide
Sweet Lamb of God, miracles of sacrifice your watchword
Tender shepherd you gather this headstrong lamb with parables of life
Alpha and Omega, you rebuke all my midnights,
Redeemer of my stubborn heart – you sow in me Christ’s light

    Change, watchword of our time
      Change without reason, capricious crime

    Reform, reconstruct, recast, revise
Change for change-sake – foolish, unwise

    Alter, adjust, adapt, amend
Constant change blurs to no end

    Transform, transmute, transfigure
Change, all jolts and jarring triggers

Change, our brains from our bodies derange
Change, our souls from the cosmos estrange

Interview with a Grain of Sand

Grain of sand,
Why have you come home with me?
Why have you left the others?
Don’t you feel alone?
Oh, I’m fine wherever I find myself.

Grain of sand,
How do you find a place for
 yourself amidst thousands of others?
Don’t you feel lost?
Oh, we create room for one another,
Altruism is our watchword.
No one hoards what others need.

Grain of sand,
How did you feel when you’re blown by the wind,
 separated from your family?
Although, family comes first,
happiness is not only rooted in family ties,
Home is what you make of that space around you.

Grain of sand,
What’s your view of humans?
Oh, my view,
I’d say humans seem not to think about the end of the road,
They’re often lost in today and inconsiderate of tomorrow,
They don’t ponder on eternity.

Grain of sand,
What’s your word of advice?
Oh, I’d say there’s truth in nature,
In its silence, it speaks,
It embraces the lost,
It brings calmness to the overburdened souls,
It connects us to the Divine.

Die not

Joy mixed with bitterness
Hope laced with scoops of mud
This journey unseen
On the way to the holy matrimony
Love is blind
So they said without holding back
Till reality set itself to their face.

"Iwalewa", golden a watchword in our clan.
Imprison it. It will free it itself.
Get along and the signs are mere.
He's a cheat, woman beater, lazy and what you can see. . .

Oh let me breathe!
Shut it up.
My ears ache.
You've made your lashes and acquiescence
Enslaved your equitable rights
You need not cry
Fighting is never the best
With faith hold to fate.

You like to quit? Do!
Pick up your pieces and refresh.
It's a green start. But not your stars too thank too early.
Something different or similar to come.
All pretend to get results
And thereafter let loose of self.

Die not in depression
Die not in the hand of a demon
You have the right to Life
Please live it to the fullest - and not as the foolest.

Society and Politics

We're held by the reins of politics,
The lies, the truths and the deception,
The misguided pathways and the hell ways,
The unknown and the hidden facts.

Is there someone else behind the mask?
Or there're too much complexities woven in the tasks?
The society is overburdened,
The people are dispirited.

Trust yourself first and expect the unexpected
 should be the watchword,
Then mayhem will not be a readily drawn sword,
Then we’ll find a road to cross.

There’s confusion at the centre,
The books don’t seem to proffer solutions,
The people seem to be accustomed to their hard ways,
Redemption is miles away.

Premium MemberTherefore I Hope In Him - Lamentations 3: 22-24

Being not consumed we stand true
only by God's merciful grace
this is the God of eternity supreme
we receive compassion from His face

Compassion is the watchword from God
for the Lord provides never to fail
in His promises always surely certain
trust His sovereign hand even from gales

Always new never turns old
waken up every morning bright
great is the faithfulness of God
like no other shines daily alight

My soul speaks so profoundly
therefore trust with one hope
the Lord is my portion is my call
holding fast to the divine rope

Lamentations three verses 22-24
set to memory in your mind
whenever down bring to recall
for the Lord has heavenly signed

(Lamentations 3: 22-24.
"Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
"The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him!”

Heartaches

Some broken hearts will never mend
for souls are swept by varied storms-
loss of sweet love and lives that end-
heartache comes in different forms.

Along my way today I found
some broken hearts will never mend;
everywhere fractured lives abound
with grief we cannot comprehend.

They struggle to the bitter end
wearing their happy disguises;
some broken hearts will never mend
and they come in many sizes.

It could be you, it could be me,
the soul whose heartache does not end
so let kindness your watchword be;
some broken hearts will never mend.

Man At Gunpoint 2

Some men keep real cool at gunpoint
Having been swimming in the company of the military,
The nozzles of guns surveying in moments solitary:
Witnesses to soldiers dipping their fingers in wallets
For the purchase of that spitting out the bullets.

Some men keep grinning at gunpoint,
Because at them pistols have been pointed many times
And no ugly story followed the smiles;
It shall always be a nice evening story by firesides.

Some men choose to be absentminded at gunpoint,
When sure they are that the thing will happen
And already glimpse the bullet their brains open:
One’s best bet to start visualizing the after- life
forgetting everything including one’s wife.

Man can be cynical at gunpoint,
When fixated his mind is upon a notion
Whose abandonment would cost him a demotion
The watchword of unwavering Arabs
Between the Healthy and the On-Tabs .

But should any man be unmanned at gunpoint
Following a menacing loosening of the thing’s safety catch
Behind a door complete with a latch
A hang man’s look on the faces of the Gang
Thinking of nothing else but the loud bang.

Premium MemberWhere Do We Poets Go

Two people looking out of a window
Strange, is it not, they see different things
Poet; attention soft in stillness slow
Man of the world; his eyes glazed, sees nothing

In seeming chaos, there is symmetry
As the pendulum swings from left to right
We see around sacred geometry
Unvoiced intent, cognised by inner sight

Poised attention, distilled by a kind heart
Watchword for a poet, warm empathy
Discerning flow of love, before it starts
Tears behind smiles, feigning serenity

Poets in truth go nowhere, poised in silence
Interconnected with the universe
Reading between lines in playful parlance
Resonation of heart, being our verse
