Everything I do is for you forever and always not because I love you but because I'm constantly walking on eggshells waiting for the other shoe to drop just for you.
Where was your manual for me.
The mandatory rehabilitation.
Ignorance is bliss and you had built up frustration. Aggravation.
Where was your patience.
Waiting for the other shoe to drop contemplating.
we needed a manual for the situation.
That’s all i’m saying.
On the other hand where was the contribution.
lost for words at the amusement.
The alternative resolution.
Where was your manual for me.

should of said can you do a favor for me?
provide the struggle.
show her how hard you had to hustle.
what it’s like to get into a scuffle.
it’s all fun and games until you have to adapt.
you got work with what you have.
that you didn’t have apart of your craft.
it lacked and lagged.

I'm a nervous Nellie with good reasons you see.
Many a time I've had the rug pulled out from under me..
There are quiet stretches where I attempt to heal and
everything is co-pathetic, at an even keel..
Abruptly the rains come down and it's never
just a spittle.
It's often like the sky is falling and I'm poor Chicken Little..
If I only knew my future I could tweak the plot, then I
could stop waiting for the other shoe to drop..
maybe you can learn to love me
but i don't know how i feel
about waiting around to see
i might be in love with a ghost
stuck on a distant memory of
how love's supposed to be
i'm waiting for the other shoe to drop
yet all the while feeling safe
that the shots have not been called
i hover in no man's land
it feels surreal that somehow
time seems stalled and stuck on pause

At a time when we need people
Especially our loved ones the most
When we need affection, attention and love the most
When being together would mean everything
A pandemic is forcing us apart
In fear we are waiting for the other shoe to drop
Bioterrorism at her best, at her most urgent
Shutting down graduations, schools, churches, families.
She is here,
She is alive
She is active.
Stay inside. Stay clean. Stay safe
Drink warm fluids; it cuts the phlegm.

Or to have my heart broken

Anticipating
Preparing myself for the next tragedy
Or heartache
And I'm not really living
I'm just surviving
I mean, what kind of life can you have
When you spend all your time building walls
Preparing for the next battle
Waiting for the next storm
Just going through the motions of life
But here I sit,
