dogs and I sit on their porch
sniffing lilacs in the country air
relaxed, unhurried, unworried
BOOM!
fireworks or a gun?
everything changes

morning or evening
sun up or sunset
six am or pm
time does not matter
in a restful state
no clock in or clock out
no check in or check out
I open my windows
listen to bird speak
tweeting bird song
lilac’s fragrance wafts in
I smell freshly-cut grass
I am floating down life’s highway
unhurried and unworried
resuming restful retirement
morning and evening

The day passes, same routine unhurried
While this body spirals of old age snail.
Energy movements and fade unworried
Point disembarkation, a blithe inhale.
Living forever at one time did grace.
Life driven dares in adolescent youth
Yielded sound as well as negative truth.
Learning by challenge mistakes we did face.
Surround by garden trim, tall sunflowers
Budding, breathless, and infectious spirit.
Climbing rose latticework, I rest near it.
Eternal sunlight reave through lonely hours.

With Spring's gentle sway, my thoughts take flight,
As weather stirs our festive mood with delight,
Strong winds shake trees, leaves dance and sway,
Like late October's colors on a grand display.
As heaven stirs passions with its cosmic play,
And desire whispers as the world waxes away,
Our love moves on, my fairest maid,
Whose heart speaks the same words as mine conveyed.
God approves, as roses bloom with grace,
But some creatures may spurn love's warm embrace.
I confess, as clouds weep and roses grow,
My love for you burns with a radiant glow.
In humble sin, I confess my love with ease,
With unworried hand and lips, like pilgrims on their knees,
That touched a rough touch with a gentle kiss,
And found love's treasure, in moments of bliss.

Serena is floating on the waters of life
unhurried
unworried
Her body in joyful repose
Every muscle and tendon open and relaxed
she flows as easily as the breeze twinkles the leaves
Others watch in amazement
as she glides effortlessly in and out of this world
her spirit deciding
Whether it is time to go or to stay
Death, just another water
where she will drink
when ready….

The northern wind catches me and takes me upriver
I repose for a bit next to teensy startled minnows
She returns for me and flicks me up into the sky
I am light and lithe, unhurried, unworried, and we are off.
You are so lucky! A prissy prim violet calls to me as I pass.
I do not understand floral, so I stick out my chin a bit.
Wind whispers against the leaves as we head through forest of oak.
I am on the road again, my heart singing, wishing for another eagle.

I cannot rush the moon, although I reckon
That if I could, I would request she hurried.
Though 'miles to go before I sleep' do beckon,
The Empress of the night sky moves unworried.

The psycho inside me will strike you when lively
the stupid inside you shines through brightly
you fully believe your actions wisely
never disguised or ghost but sightly
Believe the advantage
expert understanding
Deceive and be candid
ignorant standing
Don’t take in
no knowledge expanding
the stakes win
champagne downing
20’s lot try and play games
30’s lot a decade trained
20’s lot shall we explain
we’re grass you’re a grain
When we don’t care
you think we’re unaware
we see without stare
match you’re a flair
Lit up exposed
think no one knows
not just obvious
but fully glow
undersized psychology
sighted astrology
smiles and jolly
unworried to sorry
it’s an untraveled board
you’re yet to explore
of which we became bored
and will always no more

unknown distance luring incessant thoughts
sultry soul swims, an unseen green pasture.
mind breaks away, a mess of cluttered knots
gypsy blood in heart, breathes vintage nature
wild lands of freedom, where vistas rapture
in mystic woods crave, seamless adventure.
faraway landscape, beckoning beyond
an atlas horizon, sketched in colour.
drifting over mountains, brunette and blonde
a bird from cage, escapes to discover
unhurried butterfly comes to touch her
nightingale song, melodies her wonder
crumbling walls all around, falls a safe roof.
coherent like sky,... nomadic like sea.
inhaling blue....unworried and aloof..
a spirit drifts, amid quasar waves free
a galaxy of clouds, floating to flee
emotions stirred, in a carol of glee.
In nonrhythmic breath, of far wanderlust
Need a stowaway break, confess I must.

But one brief moment in eternity
Was this wee warbler which You sent to me.
O, brave little bird with the cheerful tune,
Tell me: Why did you leave your nest so soon?
Trembling with a desire to fly off too,
He left the nest as his mother would do.
He barely escaped a fluttering fall;
The safety of the nest beyond recall.
He sang his song boldly this baby beak,
In a cheerful voice that challenged the sky
And belied the truth that he could not fly
Because his newborn nestling wings were weak.
I found him warbling beneath a short shrub.
I sheltered him as best I was able
In his place past the patio table
Where his mother fed him insects and grubs.
Restless and hungry he gave her no rest.
This unworried warbler’s chick had no doubt
He belonged to the world beyond the nest.
One brief day, his heroic heart gave out.
But one brief moment in eternity
Was this wee warbler which You sent to me.
A brave little bird with a cheery tune.
Tell me: Why did he leave his nest so soon?”

Dream catcher made of turtle shell
Elemental magic, soul bringer, dream walker
Enlightens papoose, savoring his knowing smile.
Grandfather Shaman feeds the fire
Whose pleasure to warm is well-known in teepees.
Tribal spirit faeries hide in furs
Braves will return tomorrow
Hopefully from a good hunt.
Innocent ones sleep soundly,
Unworried, on small pox blankets.

On a winter day,
in a sunny spot;
I found a snow flower beautiful and gay,
an unexpected display in a sunny woodland knot.
It was so sweet,
a vivid purple delightful treat;
unworried about growing in a cold icy retreat.
It poked its delicate head through the snow,
unmindful of winds whispering hello;
it really was a lovely show.
The depth of color was quite a display,
better than any flower store bought;
leaving snow flower was bittersweet,
but I knew all winter more would grow.

There she is…
Hopping lightly from branches of
Each tree she rests on.
She is taking the day flippantly
Unworried, gently flipping thru’ the ruffling day
No matter what happens, even when things go
Beyond expectation of sweet bitterness
In dawn sorrow before dusk happiness
Rocketing up to the sky, and finally
Down again to the earth, gently, lightly.

Let's pretend
That these embers of war
Are fireflies on a summer's night;
A new beginning,
Pheromones in flight,
A chase without carnage,
A capture without the loss of knowledge.
I want to love again
In fertile fields,
I want skies that glow from stars,
I want these civil scars
To return to normal skin.
In all this cacophony,
Of the brutal clash of words and guns,
Let's tune the barrels of death
To chime with synchronized cadence,
And echo forever into an unworried night.
