When You Are Old and Unhurried

The day passes, same routine unhurried
While this body spirals of old age snail.
Energy movements and fade unworried
Point disembarkation, a blithe inhale.

Living forever at one time did grace.
Life driven dares in adolescent youth
Yielded sound as well as negative truth.
Learning by challenge mistakes we did face.

Surround by garden trim, tall sunflowers
Budding, breathless, and infectious spirit.
Climbing rose latticework, I rest near it.
Eternal sunlight reave through lonely hours.

What precious truths and gracious memories you so elegantly and beautifully describe, some with a touch of sadness , 'while the day passes, some routine unhurried , While this body spirals of old age snail.' Whilst towards the end there are happier hours as described with a poetic talent only you can help us understand - your lovely garden - 'Surround by garden, trim, tall sunflowers.......Climbing Rose latticework, I rest near it. excellent poem, congratulations on a well deserved win Eve dear friend. Blessings, hugs, Jennifer.

Eve: A lovely conclusion of sunlight and roses. After a lifetime of work it is a fitting reward to rest in the garden of our achievements. Beautifully expressed. SuZ

How old can one be? Some die young, some die old. It is important to cherish one's memories. Hugs.
