I'm an Afrikan

#I_am_an_Afrikan
Rose from dusty arid land of these great mountains and forests, guided and quenched by life breeding rivers and lakes, my mind and head kept at landscapes soo nurturing and grinding, the rare breeding ancestorline of blackmen. Breathed into my nostrils and system, is sharp crafted wisdom, meant to keep me sane and in perspective

vested in me, is compassion, humility and diginity, the great inheritance imparted to me by my forefathers. I speak in staticness and great courage and boldness in my voice, unwaveringly saying"I'm a afrikan"

weakness and cowardness make way, whenever I ascend podium of expressing my whereabouts, intergrity is what warms my mind and voice and I feel elevated beyond measures, Afrika is my begining and my ending, Afrika! Land of my forefathers, great origin, reach and strong culture and heritage, then who stand to question me, when Afrika is my breathing land, dare not to say how nor why for I am an Afrikan

Premium MemberThankyou My Loyal Poet Friend

Loyalty and honesty mean everything to me
It is not always easy to find
Yet I have found it here on Poetry Soup
With a poet so supportive and kind

He has my back completely
Supported me when l was openly wronged
Never to be coerced by empty poetic words
His sincerity and loyalty unwaveringly strong

I just wanted to say a huge Thankyou …..l appreciate you so much!

Respect - Appreciation

The clip on my folder has finally cracked
From all the paper that’s been stacked

All the paper piling up on top
My mind has unwaveringly become an emotional shop
A pivotal moment of a significant heart beat that can’t stop.

An influential mind of days’ nights and time

Running free of feeling and thought
Of integrity and dignity that can’t be bought

Not a cheap bargain that’s for sale
There’s no price tag on these tall tales

Irrevocably
Permanently
Conclusively

As you scan

Beep

Beep

Beep

The screen reads decline
I’m sorry sir, madam if I sound out of line
They say that’s okay its fine

We understand
We have a mind that can comprehend
It’s just that we have a strong love for your written hand

I say here then take a copy for nothing
You have given me more than something

Your respect I take willingly

Far more worth than money.

King For a Day

This is what it feels like
to be king for a day

The coronation would be
bullet hailed
as an assassination holiday
Giving a princely speech for
unity and peace
Would bring out the hate

This is what it skin chills like
to be king for a numb nation day

The pall festivities
	would unwaveringly have
a tear-stained flag lowered at half-mast

To honor fallen royalty of the past

Solemn faces would bravely force
	a rosy picture smile
As the thorns of pious peddle lip service
			pierce their sullen hearts
	with celebratory guile

This is what it feels like
to be king for a laude long day

Given the crown colony’s ignoble state of moral decay

What would this king’s renown namesake say,
as rotted hope
fills the catechism chokes on ceremonial display

And the assimilation marches and votive merry
look regal glorious,
in a faux triumphant way —
As the court of bigotry still holds colorful sway

This is what it feels like
to be king for a dethroned ideal day

Premium MemberBelieve Me

My joyful world had abruptly stopped, Beloved, to exist, believe me,
When you unknowingly faded away gently in the mist, believe me.

Like a heartbroken beggar, with intense longing, I wept to see your face,
Craved ardently and mournfully to be passionately kissed, believe me!

A broken-winged bird, pitilessly parted, I crooned a sorrowful song,
All loving memories, every day, fondly I reminisced, believe me!

Like a commanding Queen, demanded, what I believed to be only mine,
Wished our love to be all pervasive, eternally subsist, believe me!

Everything that happened in our life was an unforeseen catastrophe,
Leave dismal sorrowful days totally behind us, dismissed, believe me!

Fate has brought us back to where we truthfully belong, for all days and nights,
You remain perpetually with me, no one can resist, believe me!

Let enchanting flowers in xxxx's garden blossom in full bloom again,
In each other's eager arms, we unwaveringly persist, believe me!

Self referral consciousness choicelessly choosing immersion in the domain of illusions, pausing in the linear time continuum to imbibe the beauteous prismatic hues reflected therein, celebrates each life pulse with nonchalant childlike exuberance, unwaveringly recognising itself as the eternal I Am presence within.

Here and now awake
We witness all happenings
The dance eternal

Summer Nights

It’s the twilight times and fireflies
And the scent of jasmine fills the air,
Birdsong echoes from the trees
The sights and sounds of summer fair.

Each day brings forth a new miracle
And imagination spreads its wings to fly
Spurring me to reach my spiritual pinnacle
where eternal life awaits unwaveringly by.

I wonder where all the years have gone by
But then one wakes to: what good am I?
Regretfully letting all the world go by—
So now I turn my back and quietly lie.

Premium MemberPaths Many Choose Any

All paths require total surrender
To imbibe divine grace in wonder

If the chosen path be of the Jnani
Wisdom garnered by connectivity
Awareness stills attention at the periphery
Subject & object merging in entirety

The path of identity surrendered devotion
Unwaveringly seeking the divine union
For all else save God negation
Resonating in silence with the Ohm vibration

Then there is the Yogi
With determination to raise the kundalini
Ready for a leap into the void of uncertainty
A path requiring first attaining inner purity

Yet apart from all we hear a tune humming
A radiance invisible with fragrance uplifting
Receptive heart with hands helping & healing
Embracing without judging and gently flowing

Paths many
Choose any
Or all
As of inner call

The Best of Fathers

What makes Jehovah the best of fathers?
He carries us as a loving mother
carries his newborn child.
He knows us intimately
and cares for us unwaveringly.

He welcomes our expressions in prayer
responding with utmost wisdom
out of deep compassion.
He discerns the meaning behind our words,
words we may not speak,
tears we may refuse to cry.

He sent a perfect model, a perfect brother,
the very best he could afford to give.
We can wake to another day
with peace of mind and a bright future hope,
let alone everlasting life.

Despite sin and imperfection
He invites us to call him
"Jehovah" and "Father",
preferring to be such
than a punisher or executioner.

Jehovah teaches us personally
through creative works.
Vast power, yet complete control.
Intricate details of objects
too small for our minds to imagine, or
so immense that we appear as small.
Overwhelming it is, then, to contemplate
how unlimited Jehovah's hand is for us.

What makes Jehovah the best of fathers?
He can train a human father to
imitate himself,
instilling within him the trust
to raise a child- a miracle alone-
to love Jehovah—the best of fathers.

Premium MemberThe Catalyst

Just look at him now!
      Look how far he's come
       From the bottom rung
      Of the corporate ladder
To the very top, at last!
       The world, at his feet
He owes a debt of gratitude
       To his supportive wife
      She was his cheerleader
     Unwaveringly behind him
     All the way. The catalyst
That lit a fire under his belly
A fire that used to be...
           Only a smoke

Premium MemberA Solstice Long Day

Oh song of my heart, whisper a light tune,
And sip the calm glow of a summer June,
Breaths of May I rode on Cupid's arrow,
A sojourn pass, of a wayward sparrow,

The remnants of me felt a winds girth,
Anointed me a bastion of pure mirth,
I lived a day of passion, night of bliss,
A pleasured time that I was naught amiss,

I took a course that was rightfully mines,
No foreboding trails or capricious signs,
'Twas from my own heart that led me justly,
I chased, unwaveringly, and closely,

Oh song of my heart, whisper a light tune,
And sip the calm glow of a summer June.

And So It Begins

The empty ring finger
Is to be filled in next few days
                  Symbol of our new life
Dreams that two pair of eyes
                  Have seen since a year
                         Wishing on countless stars
A promise to be together forever
                             On our every tomorrows
Unwaveringly ,come crests or thin air
We shall paint our each day
                      With colour of our love
Walking holding hands beneath evening red sun
We will share all undisturbed stares
All ineffable words that loitered in our tied tongues

I often touch my ring finger
                                     And smile on my own
                          Quick happenings of events
                                      As miracles drawn from heavens
                           And so it begins
Our beautiful much awaited married life

My Best Friend

God is my Best Friend, and I want to make him proud of me for others sake.
I try to be a good person, which is to give and not to take.

To assist other people, that may need help in some special way,
Look for the good path, not the easy path, then follow it and do not stray.

I Love you my Lord God, I will keep my faith, heart, soul and eyes on you,
To follow the straight path, unwaveringly, all day through.

So many decisions to make, yet only one rings true and loud.
Is the one that makes my Best Friend Proud.
