Unsatiable Poems

"...betrayal begins with trust."
                        Quote- Phish

when the one you love
hides in a woven tangled web of lies
that stretches across the hole in their soul
they wait, sharpening their talons
needing to taste your heart's blood
   as payment
for your innocence of being a fool
though their love was warm and inviting once
it has become colder, more calculating
   a game played
with perspectives broken to inflict pain
using trust as a coin of the realm
   like a weapon
until every desire has been satisfied
and your heart left to wither and die
as it hangs on a web of entrapment
until nothing is left in your heart
   but an empty shell

how sad the soul
whether through unsatiable hunger or need
can move so easily from lover to lover

how sordid and complicated the life
that can move from passion to betrayal
without a thought

how empty the heart that runs hot and cold
and can never be filled with trusting love

Premium MemberThe Beast

Lurking in the shadows,
Searching for his prey.
The Beast of the Bayou,
Will feast well today.

An unsatiable hunger,
Drives his rabid desire.
With dagger-like teeth,
And eyes lit with fire.

His razor sharp claws,
Rips flesh to the bone.
The fear he instills,
Turns all into stone.

For the ill-fated souls,
That soon cross his path.
Will feel all the fury,
Released from his wrath.

When the carnage is over,
And he's happily fed.
He'll howl at the moon,
And traipse on the dead.

Then vanish in the night,
Without leaving a clue.
Oh God! Don't look now,
He's standing behind you!

Premium MemberNaughty Yet Innocent

NAUGHTY YET INNOCENT

She’s young and oh so innocent,
naughty at times can be.
Depending on the time of day,
but nights … especially.

Daytime she likes to play around,
In one place never stay.
Makes you wonder where she’s going,
but only time … will say.

When crawling towards you on her knees,
she takes your breath away.
You sweep her up into your arms,
her presence … makes your day.

Nighttime she’s unpredictable,
quite demanding can be.
Desires and needs unsatiable
both dead tired … around three.

She gets naughty when bottle wants,
screams, and loud, known to get.
Innocent behavior, because,
she’s just two … don’t forget!

Premium MemberThe Reason My Ink Flows

The reason my poetic ink flows is simple. I write to inform,
to inspire, to move, to amuse, to explore the terra incognita,
to enter the dark room of my soul and open up the windows
for sunlight to come in. I leave the doors wide open for readers
to walk in. I'm driven by an inexplicable interior mechanism,
an unsatiable existential curiosity about the human condition,
about life in general. Love and nature help fuel my creativity.

                                                           I'm an explorer
                                                    I open my soul's window
                                                          to let the light in.

Premium MemberBeyond Love's Limit

How quickly I got drunk on him
He was the salt I licked off the rim
    of glass after unsatiable glass
Intoxicated on love, over the brim
I drank beyond limit, beyond control
until inebriation took an ugly toll

Then the drinks became too bitter
like sparkling champagne loses its glitter
In sober state I admitted my mistake -
    drunkenness is a hard hitter
I taste salt from tears upon my tongue
because of a song I should've left unsung

Premium MemberI Live By My Daddy's Creed

What drives people to kill one another
Are they made of different stuff
Is their brain matter arranged so differently
Can't imagine being angry enough

Enough to take the life of another human
Over passion, possessions, or greed
So foreign to everything I have ever learned
I live by my daddy's creed

Dad once told me when I was just a tike
Each one of us is created equal
I've never forgotten his words to this day
Prejudice is absolutely pure evil

What gives man the right to claim otherwise
To aquire an unsatiable appetite
To pillage and plunder for the sake of power
We all meet the same end despite

Wars have been fought for as long as forever
At my age I won't see an end
As long as each one of us has love in our hearts
We can hold our heads high, my friends

Sanity

my sanity seems to unravel

like frayed shoe-laces on a rainy day

I keep tripping on in the mud

but when I go to tie them

I find myself barefoot

rooted in an unsatiable lust

for something other than reality

a blood-letting of sorts

a scream that dies

before it escapes my throat

my struggle is not one of boredom or regret

rather a confusing mixture

of powders, pills, and mind-control

and some weird state of non-commital emotion

a dark ocean of something mistakenly called

anti-depression

I’ve never really been in control

but I fight with a might that might surpise you

and win most battles and lose most wars

realizing too late that I’m the only one

keeping score

another day of willing the sun to stay down

to allow me to drown

in a dreamscape of something greater

inhibit my feelings or leave me alone

this is something I’ll always fight

alone
