I am not quiet,
Not easily forgotten,
Yet somehow
Still unseen.
I feel it,
In the bones of my being,
This weight of being
Unappealing.
Not the kind
You’d walk toward.
Not the kind
That draws eyes or hearts.
It’s not like me
To say, “I hate myself,”
But sometimes,
That silence speaks louder.
Strangers
Faces I’ve never met,
Mouths that never called my name,
Eyes that never really saw me
Still, they judge.
They know me better than I do,
They say.
They define my shape,
My walk,
My worth.
And so, I wear it.
Their truth becomes mine.
And you
You’re beautiful,
Unique,
Undeniable.
You can see me.
I cannot.
And though it’s not like me
To admit this ache,
This shadow inside,
It is still me.
Still here.
Still hurting.

As the world turns and the days go by
life comes in waves of positive and negative
experiences, but occasionally a tsunami will
knock one senseless and it takes a while
for things to calm down and become manageable
again and I am looking forward to that season

There was once a Queen
Who sat on her throne
Behind closed doors
Giving orders, abusing and casting spells
The staff rebelled and chucked her in hell
Where she remains still spitting poison.

Place: Honourable mention
“Oh, my dear mirror!
You show the queerer,
The beautiful and the ugly,
As they are!
Everything on the left
Stays on the left;
Everything on the right
Stays on the right.
What you see, you show,
Neither less nor more!
You’re the best judge,
That we all know!
Even for the sake of fun
Against none,
You never show
An iota of grudge!”
When I ask, if it has anything
to say on the contrary, it humbly says,
“If I’m curved inwardly or outwardly,
I show you the things quite differently!
If I’m broken into many pieces,
A shattered image you get from me!
I’m impartial to the core when I’m flat,
And reflect exactly what is before me!”
You are portrayed altogether differently
By the people with crooked minds!
People with plain minds portray you as you’re!
A great lesson from the mirror, we’ve to learn!!

Doctor’s office
The fern in the corner is plastic
They couldn’t afford silk?
There is nothing refreshing about it
There is a candy jar
The old guy has been up there six times
I know because he brings the wrapper to me
I am sitting next to the wastepaper basket
That fern is disturbing
Anything that ugly should not be shared
I would be doing them a solid
If I put it into the wastepaper basket with these wrappers

Above is the place
I wish to race
Above is the face
I wish to grace
Where people dreams age
And where thunderstorms rage
The wildest dreams take courage
And where you feel the stars stage
Above is the Term
That we use when success has arms
The word that manifest richness alarm
Reminder of bellow and its germ
Reminder of the bare minimum firm
That has been bestowed on human farm
To the Darest point of life
To the darest point of achievements
Above is the habitat
That reminds us of climate change and stats
The human effects on what protects us from start
The deepest conversation and debate that doesn't need a flirt
Its effect grave on living organism on earth
And the word is deep in the heart
That indeed human should be reminded in an art
Of the beautiful nature we destroy without the guts
Of the ugliness it leaves and lives it hurts
Above is the pace
Where Motivation is driven and ridden
Word that keeps a vision not bedridden
The pace that reminds one to wake talents hidden
To betterment and change venture den
A world of production and not purely consumers.

I woke up this morning with my hair in knots.
Lines on my belly mapping where you had been.
Dishes in the sink glared at me as I walked by.
The stove harboring remnants of last nights dinner.
Laundry remained unfolded in the hall.
The washer crying as I added another load.
Motherhood is ugly...
But today you smiled at me.

Let me now sing the song of my old age,
All I recount now belongs to the past.
Since the noticed changes are far too vast,
Let this song be sung by a real sage.
This face, now so old, ugly, and wrinkled,
Once shone with a glow, bright and appealing.
Though no longer fine, smooth, and now peeling,
This same old skin was once never crinkled.
These eyes, now drooping, dimmed by poor vision,
Once sparkled with allure and shone pretty.
These hands were once fresh, smooth, and not gritty,
Though now shaky with loss of precision.
The mouth, now sunken and full of gnashers,
Was once bright in the glow of real teeth.
A life once like the vibrance of a wreath
Now whispers in the folds of old tatters.
These feet, worn and cracked, trudging so slowly,
Once romped in the bloom of youthful delight.
Though now calloused and bent, aching each night,
They carried dreams and walked them boldly.

The Rose of Jericho is a grim plant,
The Spider Orchid leafs are a tumbled mess ,
Looking at this plant where's the charm I confess ,
The Rose of Jericho’s leafs are dried , gross and not scant.
The rat tail cactus is foul to behold,
It’s tail like tentacles look like spiky strips,
And string the leafs together use them for whips,
The cactus flowers are lovely I am told.
What flowers are awesome during the night?
The Evening primrose has a strong scent too,
The Moon flower is lovely to behold.
These flowers shine bright ;they do not need light,
This plant has fatty acids ,good for you ,
This flower blooms are spiral I am told.
