The lighthouse
alone on the hill
just a tree at its side
its beacon
that light
It casts a long light
in a long blink
and then it's gone
in a spin
to mark the shore within
It sits on its own island
only accessible on low tide
the path a bridge
mercurial moat that hides it
The building is lit at night
as well as its beam
presenting an eerie glow
In the fog it seems
Almost haunted
romantic
so substantial
It's survived tsunamis
wrapped around its base
which left no trace
as they ravaged inland
A sight to see
A hike I intend to aspire
up those circular stairs
to peer out through that light tower
The lighthouse at Battery Point, Crescent City, CA

what comes tomorrow
leaves some elements of doubt
earths rain wind and fire
seems to dominate the skies
save for our eternal light
arctics melting ice
overflowing tropic isles
oceans reclaim land
earthquakes raise tectonic plates
tsunamis obliterate
carbon dioxide
polluting earths atmosphere
fossil fuels banned
net zero global warming
when will mankind understand

With no magnetic field nor atmosphere.
Wouldn't radiation rain down everywhere?
What physics are involved with explosions in space?
And what would be the outcome of the human race?
Would it completely throw our moon out of whack?
Causing major tsunamis or have they thought about that?
I'm no genius but I have simple common sense.
Explosions in space will make something happen.
That irrational greed for the power over all.
Most likely would become our final downfall.
I can't be sure if out there other life exists.
If it does, I'm sure they're having none of it.

A huge tsunami did not bother these two
Maude McMillian and her twin sister Sue
They got in their shopping cart and rode a wave
Many commented those old gals are brave
We have been in tsunamis worse than this one said
Yes, and we are still alive said her sis, nowhere dead
They laughed and chortled as they blew around the town
Watching street lights and bridges falling swiftly down
This is no big deal, nothing like the storm of 1992
Maude agreed with her identical twin sister Sue
They snatched up a cat, a dog and two rabbits to save
Sparing them from death and an early grave

One midnight moment
will hover over a grain of sand,
a quartz, a glass facet,
a sphere spun
by a self-winding collective consciousness.
Everything will change - nothing will.
Mice will not transform back to white horses,
tsunamis will always be
just one wave away from possible.
Crowds will gather, cheers will disperse.
One lone firework will fall to earth
to fizzle on as bright as it can
for a while.

In the jungle's heart, where shadows and spirits blend,
A silent hunter, a forest's friend.
Stripes of amber, black and gold,
The tale of power, courage and bold.
Its eyes burn bright, flaming hue,
Reflecting the skies of cerulean blue.
Its claws are like a silver, steel sword,
As it rules the jungle as its legendary lord.
Its roar splits heaven and hell,
As earthquakes and tsunamis are caused by a shattering yell.
Hunters poach them for their magnificent, golden robes,
As its lengthy tail is like a serpent coiling the globe.
It lives among the jungles, sand, wetlands and snow,
During the dark, its orange, blazing eyes begin to glow.
Deers, birds and boars is a king's delightful feast,
As the enemy feared this bloodthirsty beast.
The speed of the beast is beyond the stars,
As its back is full of lacquer, black scars.
The beast itself ruled Lanka with Tamil kings,
The sabre-like fangs and crushing claws blings.
Oh Tiger, the guardian of the land,
Let Lord Murugan feel you with his divine hand.
Let Lakshmi shower you with wealth, fortune and prosperity,
As the beast speaks to the people in a tone of sincerity.

Prehistoric knowledge stirs then erupts
like lava
All that's left is volcanic ash after mountainous
epiphanies
My esoteric philosophies burn from the inside
out
Destructive bouts of genius ensue as New Age
ideas stick like glue
There's nothing new under the sun & there's
no stopping this intellectual drip
Rays of light shine then fall like rain touching
everything in view
Many cups runneth over all eager for you to
take a sip
Enlightening you with every drop your synapses
pop with thunderous claps
Oceans of emotions churn until tsunamis of thoughts
overtake you
A naturally disastrous silence hits like the dawn
of a new day
A calming peace comes over you like sitting under
a tree in the shade
That feeling will never leave you no matter
the season
Everyone awakens at different times for
different reasons
The universe speaks in many ways & at some point
we all hear what it has to say
To disregard the natural order of things would in
& of itself be treason

My wife sustains my life, leaves me always wanting more
Just love her sweet persistence, she’s the one that I adore
From her I get—action, main attraction, chain reaction
From her I get—kindness, love that binds us, to remind us

Oh, how cruel time can be!
Shattering hopes and killing beauty.
Slowly it steals moments, leaving everything bare
Time, a relentless force, beyond compare.
Here lies a victim of time's cruelty, the ruins of the cotton tree
Once a symbol of resilience, a beacon of the free
Now a reminder of nature’s vulnerability.
It withstood tsunamis over the years
Yet a mere breeze brought it to tears.
Time robs us of the things we love,
Leaving empty spaces in the skies above.
Its callous hands never rest
Leaving scars upon each beating chest.
The beauty of Freetown, green all year round
Gasping for breath as its life was unbound.
Freetowneans gather to the weeping sound
As on May 24th, the mighty tree was felled to the ground.
We'll seize the moments, stand with pride
For in the end, when all is said and done
Time's cruelty fades, and life's victories are won.
A new tree is just being born...

They were long and tousled,
when the heart felt
the first jolt of despair.
With each passing moment,
the strands reaching further,
weathering tsunamis,
thunder, sighs, wailing;
Life.
Every tug or tear, destroying
the tresses from within, in
the blink of an eye, unnoticed.
They were short and shaggy
for a while after that first
goodbye.
Like a Phoenix, they spread
their wings, regaining what is
lost.
They are long and flowing,
singing the symphony of
triumph and resilience,
now that the heart is home.

I tune in to the channel coming forth & then
present what's coming through
A train of thoughts move like locomotives only
stopping for a few
From the ethers they descend like falling rain
precipitating flow from the sky
When they come all are drenched in declarations
bathing in the waters of divine
Surfing the annals of the mind can cause historical
waves to erect
Tsunamis destroy paradigms in a flash before
proceeding to redirect
By many it's seen as a disaster but viewed as a
blessing by a few
Sometimes we have to destroy to rebuild again &
make room for the new
Your ships may be docked for a spell but will sail
again when weather breaks
The will can be an unstoppable force to behold
moving like a train without its brakes
It's wet after clouds formed & quickly passed bringing
out the sun after the rain
Tears fell from the heavens to what's below washing
away the dirt & the pain
The eye in the sky sees all in one take illuminating
what's low from a higher place
Open channels flow with higher purpose seeking their
level & making waves in another space

Gun funds fought latin commies
And launched immigrant tsunamis
Trump's wall at the border
Now reads out of order
And can't stop the kids and their mommies
Don't forget gang deportation
That affected some latin nation
What we sent down there
Gave many a scare
Being bullied is no vacation
Republicans caught in a lie
We do know why they won't vote aye
They'd the polls ruffle
With border kerfuffle
Designed to make Biden the bad guy

I swam in your ocean
Flew in your skies
Mother Earth so
Nurturing and wise
Now you fight back
With perilous fury
Waves and storms
The bodies we bury
Tsunamis and earthquakes
Sandstorms and snow
We have poisoned you
Chemicals in tow
I hope you forgive
Our ignorant ways
Man has deserted you
Mother Earth nights and days
