A Truckers Prayer

Our Lord, watch over us, your truckers
Wherever we may go
In daylight and in darkness
Following our loads
The roads we run are many
And the job we do is long
But lord, we all are brethren
Out here on the haul
So Lord, watch over us, your truckers
Wherever we may go
And bless the ones who’ve gone before
And those who carry on.

Amish Truckers Association

This part happened, this first part is true
But the story stretched and the exaggerations too
A trucker arrived to offload what he had to deliver
A hat and coat, avoiding a morning shiver
I was wondering about his means of transportation
I looked at the trucker and automatically knew without a mustache, he was part of the Amish
Truckers Association
I knew there had to be a wagon and horse involved
Sticker on the side reading Barn needed, a barn raising every Sunday, problem solved
Oats bag over the horse's mouth, wagon parking brake locked in place
Not an eighteen wheeler, so doesn't take up a lot of space
His name was Eli
Do you believe me, why would I lie?
Pensalvania was his final destination
It all leads to him being a member of the Amish Truckers Association

Premium Member Truckers Shut It Down

We need to send a message for Washington to hear
We need to make a statement and make it loud and clear
Leave rigs double parked in every town
Come on truckers. Shut it down
Block the highways. Set your course.
Show our politicians a united force
Politicians! While you're kissing babies remember this
We've got something you can kiss
We wanted a leader. We got a clown.
So let's go truckers. Shut it down.

It is time to start sending a message to our OPEC owned and
operated congresss. If you can't stop the oil gougiing prices, we can stop the
entire country. What happens if the last of the American cowboys, the truck
drivers, unite? If they double park their rigs on the interstates all over the country,
unhook them and leave them there? These guys are getting shafted by the same
people who subsidize airlines so the executives can milk the living hell out of it.
Meanwhile, not only the independent, but any small trucking company can't afford
to stay in business. It is time to shut it down

My Truckers Prayer

Lord,bless me this day,
As I drive down this lonely highway.
Bless my family at home all alone,
Let me return where ever I roam.
If you feel it's my time to sleep,
Please take me quick and not let my family weep.
Keep my eyes open, keep my prayers in mind,
Keep my heart clean and let me always be kind.
Be my copilot in my time of need,
Remind me of who I am in my times of greed.
This is my prayer when I am on the road,
That I should return from every load.

A Truckers Wife

Placing my heart upon my sleeves,
posting fragrant aroma in empty rooms.
Wanting inner passion to erupt volcanically
only my love is emptied in loneliness.

Silent walls call loves emotions loudly
frames of desire paste deserted entities.
Sleekly punishing my broken chamber
into pieces of puzzled prisons locked jail.

Longing for fires flames to come home
yet over the road trucking he must be.

People have to eat,
and need other things.
Although for women like me
we must sacrifice for everyone.

Left alone without our love
to comfort us at night...

Truckers

There is something about eighteen wheelers,
For most of us can only wonder.
A trucker is respected to the up most,
From the east to west coast.
Oh demand to get to their destination,
Wist no hesation.
Only the strong will go the long haul,
They have no time to stall.
The endurance they have to keep on going,
In order to maintain what their hauling.
Keeping the peddle to the metal,
Across plains, bypasses, and meadows.
The sparkle you can see in their eyes,
Trucking is what they enjoy in their lives.
Meeting new people on the road,
While hauling that heavy load.
Oh what stories they have to tell,
And do it so very well.
For what I say, is what I have seen,
Becuase my husband is one of these.
A wife who knows the truth in their heart,
Someone that's been there from the start.
Never to tell how alone and scared I maybe,
Trucking is what they love and desire that's plain to see.
So for all those truckers out there,
Stay alert and aware.
Theres someone special waiting at home,
Calmly waiting by the phone.
Families who love and cares for all of you,
And ask the Lord to be with you too.

The Truckers Life

When he's been gone too long,
And the days never end.
State after state
He misses his best friend.

He hates to say good-bye.
Too macho to cry.
Gotta pay the bills.
There's no time to kill.

He hugs his wife good-bye,
as his little girls cry.
They miss him so much.
And he misses so much.

First steps. First words.
School days. Birthdays.
The phone's always there.
But it's not the same.

Always alone.
No one to blame.
It's just a job.
A career. A life.

It's all he knows.
And he misses his wife.
