Treason Poems

Rhyme but no Reason for Treason Silly Season

Damn it the planet’s on fire

Concerning..right down to the wire

Burning on its funeral pyre spire

I’m for turning.. where’s the messiah?

A heavenly choir…so we can aspire

That learning will finally inspire

An endless yearning desire

Of spurning this friendless quagmire

Discerning things are rather dire

Churning of the palaver and ire

Mother nature does surely tire

Should be the crier & trier

Of another

Now there once was a man called Obama
who did more grievous harm than Osama.
   At Hillary’s coax
   they conspired a hoax
so coming your way is some bad karma!

Thy Treason O Fate

Nigh like a chameleon, conceal that can,
Camouflage, sly head in wisdom to shake,
Yet seldom can save your life from a snake,
So how O Fate ye deal with mortal men.
O stutter not with a mask nigh jaded,
Gossamer veils that little can conceal,
Beware, ye end up much more to reveal,
Not just

Prologue Post Treason

LizPiggo began gobbling up the bodies of the four Cartel members. "What"! Her newly aware look at her comrades, questioned in a somewhat hurt and astonished manner, their judgmental attitudes. "We have to get rid of the evidence!" She whipped out a bottle of Uncle Ray's barbecue sauce and

Trump Poems and Epigrams Ii

TRUMP POEMS AND EPIGRAMS II

Quite Con-trary
by Michael R. Burch aka "The Loyal Opposition"

Trumpy, Trumpy,
fat, balding and lumpy,
how does your Rose Garden grow?
“With venom and spleen
and everything mean,
and my gasket about to blow!”

Trumpy, Trumpy,
obese and dumpy,
why are your polls so low?
“I claimed I was Cyrus
at war with a virus
but lost every time to the minuscule foe!”

Dare To Compare Pen and Sword

In days of lore a sword was held in hand
not a vest strapped to a chest by some command

Terror a very strong feeling of fear
how far this is to what Poets hold dear

In younger days terror was contained in a nightmare
not a bomb or a threat carelessly sent everywhere

How different are they from you and

Premium MemberIn Suppression of Treason What Motive Or Reason

Irony, often, enacts comically fatal roles,
Brings dignitaries down from their highest pedestal poles;

Sometimes, in a symbolically pragmatic costume,
Of the protagonist, destruction its role does assume;

Julia Gillard, Australian feminist Prime Minister,
Kitten heels! Fell over public! Earned laughter sinister!

Unprejudiced slip! Humiliated tentatively!
Escorts and envoys, though, waited on her attentively!

Her fall followed her fiery address on

A prime minister of Land Down Under -
from her role she had been put asunder.
I've been reading of texts
and jokes made of her sex,
but about her I still have to wonder . . .

I surmise mostly Aussies would know
more exactly why she was let go,
I sure wish I knew
that at "Beyond Blue"
she was doing kids

If one chooses to enter the political realm
[To serve his or her country in high office]
Inevitably, they will be accused of misconduct
Of one sort or another during their tenure
Julia Gillard, ex-Prime Minister of Australia,
The first and only female in Australia’s history
Is no exception.

From 2010-2013, she performed her duties, but
Was deposed by her predecessor, who claimed
Rightly

We the People

We are the people of the past and the present that you have failed to represent.
We freeze in fear of the current fate of our vitality and of our future fertility
We are those that pay the pipers price for policies of protection.

We do not take lightly the heat of hatred nor the will to wage

Paul Verlaine Translation: It Rains In My Heart

Il pleure dans mon coeur (“It rains in my heart”)
by Paul Verlaine
loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

It rains in my heart
As it rains on the town;
Heavy languor and dark
Drenches my heart.

Oh, the sweet-sounding rain
Cleansing pavements and roofs!
For my listless heart's pain
The pure song of the rain!

Still it rains without reason
In my overcast heart.
Can it be
