Transponder Poems

A Good Woman is Hard to Find

“You’re gonna lose that girl”, they sing:
the one who wears my diamond ring.
They ask me why I even date her -
she’s not a great communicator.
She got mislaid when out in Ronda,
until I bought the new transponder.
She’s unaware her room’s a cellar,
or that her name is Helen Keller.

Premium MemberMemento on the Moon

A boy from a distant galaxy does wander,
calls home on his intergalactic transponder,
stares into the black where countless twinkles swirled,
at an unremarkable nearby world.
That planet is, of all signs of life, long devoid,
unless, by geology, it has been destroyed.
More fascinating than just any rock or pebble,
peering through his brand new spacesuit's bubble,
lies before him, on this dusty satellite,
a monument, illuminated by Sol's bright light.
It bears a picture history. Could it be to mourn,
or possibly, for future space travellers to warn,
in a sequence of images so melancholy
the consequences of one specie's folly?

Premium MemberHoly Gosh Darn

How many of youse guys remember these
Well golly gee, holy cow, gosh darn, gee willikers
Way back when they were naughty phrases
Today the naughty words are maimers and killers

How things have changed and getting uglier
Mass shootings, targeted individuals, fire starters
What's happened to the world we once knew
Civility should be deleted from each transponder

Golly gee and all that holy mackerel stuff
Thinking of it things haven't really been much better
Since day one man has been fighting man
Sure haven't been sending each other love letters

Received that you'll live like a messenger really preach
Shout it out post your findings on the wall what's that reach
Preach the A B C's letters fall and when you're done what preach
Everyone reading letters to the Philippians
Pick up a rotary phone and call
When nothing else left then just raise your hands and Praise Him
                                           Praise the Lord, just
                                                     Preach

(Preach Literally
Transponder clear florescent
Invisible literally
Cold frozen on the planet
Gray to dark, brown to black
All creation created by God
The big hugh, tiny so small I love cry angels prayer I sigh they fly
Preach

My Regards

7/13/17

Among and below the stars
Near and far
From here to way beyond Mars
I send my regards
May your own path be carved
As you take charge
 Close and beyond any barge
On either side of the yard
Up and down every boulevard
Whether or not your intent on living small or large
Maybe in the future, we'll see flying cars

Roger dodger you old codger
I hear you loud and clear through the transponder
On land and in water
Close by and over yonder
The temperature getting colder and hotter
Let us continue to prosper
And ponder
With so much to offer
Wherever we wander
Always trying to do it proper
While keeping our honor
Even when the times become somber
Instead of thinking like "why bother?"
Focus, try harder and conquer

Not a second later
Onto something greater
On either side of the equator
So be it if it requires a lot of labor
This is far from minor, this is major
Through civilizations and out in nature

Streaming Video: Beam Up My Loved Ones

For time, space cannot the opportunity squander
With streaming video distant love grows much fonder
Magnetic beams glint through the wild blue yonder
Grainy, jittery images oft-forsaken hearts to ponder
Air waves blipping images through bleary transponder
Eerie prescience of the whole, but piecemeal shapes do launder
Irony, modern technology, 1930's Spanish cinema does corresponder
Crouching, girdled with adrenalin of a First Responder
Matted wigs, flat toupees across streaking screen wander
Silky-brunette locks dimmer; brown bangs look blonder
Shadows in a swirling blender, to homesick minds a bonder
Stealing a few precious minutes, then with love absconder

Teleported Into Azure Bliss

Stealthy balloon soaring into the wild blue yonder
To all material pursuits now an absconder
Shearing temporal ties that do corresponder
Content the balmy sky to aimlessly wander
Time and limitless space do freely squander
Drinking mist from satin founts, clinging to each azure rung, primordial bonder
Gilding a halo from each golden sun beam; breaching mystical divide in breathless wonder
Releasing spent fuel, hopes and dreams grow fonder
Floating through each, silky strand began to ponder
The pulsating waves emanating from heaven's transponder
Filtering each rhapsodic note through my idyllic responder
Swooning in the porous rotunda, my happiness do launder
