Over adjectives and adverbs, I greatly fawn
Never saying no to a thesaurus, said my cousin John.

My thesauruses make as if
to have
an extremely developed love of
beauty.
my muse Trixie does not allow us to have writers block
or even writers slow down or writers caution
our words jump onto a page easily and quickly
where do they come from? I have reference books
two thesauruses, a dictionary, and scientific facts for kids
I open them up if I need a starting out point
begin jotting down words or ideas that I like
pretty soon they form a poem
one poem begets another poem and another
pretty soon I have ten poems,
this is in a twenty-seven minute period
I can almost always write ten in twenty-seven minutes

Chastushkas
I would love to write a poem as hilarious as could be.
But it seems like funny poems will not come out of me.
So I practice my Chastushkas in hopes I will succeed.
A better sense of humor must be what I need.
I wish that I could buy one, but they are not in the store.
I have searched dictionaries and thesauruses galore.
I have looked along the freeway and down the country roads
But the funny inspirations seem to hop away like toads.
There are so many writers that have a humorous touch.
And I wish I had it, too… very much.
I guess I must remember to write down the funny things I see around.
Like the time I saw kids rolling, laughing wildly on the ground.
But until then, I’ll use my pen to hone my funny bone.
Writing those Chastushkas until I do not laugh alone…

Poetic form: Couplets
The words unspoken rest within the tomes
of dictionaries and thesauruses.
Their overpopulated muted homes
await the poet to give them voices.
"Oh! Wordy friends, beseech your help I must.
Inspire me with living elements
that I may structure verse with words I trust.
Let truth bespeak my worthiness intent
And give it rhythmic regularity.
Allow its message avenues of grand.
Have muse, Erato, speak with clarity
to humankind and make them understand
that poetry, the universe of love
and Truth is His only recourse thereof."
