Tediousness Poems | Examples

Premium MemberI Could but I Dont

daily tediousness
a lulling monotony
up to me to change this

I could learn a new language
rock babies at a day care center
teach cartooning

Instead I sit in my recliner
clicking the remote
staring at idiocy

doing nothing

Modest Finanaces

Modest finances

We're supposed to travel to the Algarve, stay at a posh hotel, and eat at a restaurant that sells African food
on my birthday
So many medical bills coming, an unhealthy thud in our post-box and the tediousness of re-insuring the car to walk in our car-infested town and the lengths to banks and medical facility makes a car
a must.
Of course, we could go to the Algarve, stay at a doss house, and risk fighting the bedbugs, there have been many French tourists this year.
When the finances are modest, it is not tragic one has to be less craven and do with Coca-Cola. Burgers and hot fries, there is a charm to meeting those who have as little as us, we feel as if we belong
to the masses and buy a left-wing newspaper.
How wrong we are, the hamburger crowd is not
interested in who rules their life, all they want
is a burger, with fries.

Premium MemberHeading Into Mothers Day Weekend

Dark hour of morning green and jealous sun.
Flag’s red, white, and blue leans over the porch.

Oak branches, bored, and skeleton but wood.
The leaves too still, no breath of life, no sigh.

M a h o g a n y - s a t u r a t e d f l o w e r s
in frame with inky stems, ebonic blend.

The missing link between Winter and Spring
does spread its wings, still life below the clouds.

Oh! I hear it! Oh! I knew it! The rain
o b s i d i a n does wake - the s h a t t e r i n g,
a m e l a n c h o l y roar, a s i l e n t pour.

There is hope fulness, hope lessness in it.
A tediousness-grace, beside next day.
A full out vortex burst of rosy cheeks,
this day tempers. The birds concur with me.

The None Affair

The none affair

The celebration ran into a Dogger bank that had
been trawled of fishy life and turned into windblown sand
of the endlessly repeated.
Take-away food and Portuguese soap triteness was
the name of the monotony.
Red-eyed by watching tediousness in action, time for bed
hoping a dream of glory would restore disappointment.
Eight hours of pre-death, the thought landscape was dark.
The morning had cold sun on the verandah, a day had gone
never to return, swallowed up by the monolithic time
The celebratory bottle of wine collects dust on a shelf.

Voyaging

Voyaging

The high seas and the battle for a meaning
of life, not on a ship that runs on routine.
The Panama Canal, have I been there once
not sure, I vaguely remember a tank ship
pulled by trains; I might be erroneous.
A miniature community of lost people
changing the clock one hour forward
or one hour back, the time disappears.
No escape gaping emotional exposed
and the roar of sea-lions
Sanctuary is a tamper-proof cabin door
reading books to combat the tediousness
of being
Will the ship ever reach a safe haven?

Muddle

I muddle through the day
like an old tire being
dragged out of a muddy pond.

Words and days come and go -
an expression fumbles
out of my mouth.
Just another day of tediousness
and exaggerations.

I would ask you to come
with me but I know
you'd never go back
to Idaho -
days upon days of snow
buckling the power lines
and rooftops.

I muddle through...

The Love Bug

The Bug
Is Love a compulsion, the sudden idea that this person,
no others, will meet all your need and make you happy.
It is a moment, falling in love only happens once when
you are among the blessed and anointed by the gods.
For some, the illusion lasts a lifetime for others it falls
at the first hurdle of familial tediousness.
Luckily love is transferable you meet someone else who
will make you happy but it will not be the same as first
time, no matter how many times you try to love, is a gift
only given once, the rest is repetition

Quote Prompt 5

"I have dug my way out the ground with palm and fist many times- my whole life has been one burial after another; I will find my way out of you just fine."
--rupi kaur

no one will steal my dignity...
        nothing can break my walls-
I've learned that being with
you strengthens my
              determination to let go-
tediousness leaves unbelievable
destruction-
destruction left when I walked away....

Evening In Paradise

Evening in Paradise
Evening in the village it is about nine o’clock nothing on TV except
men in nice suits and cuff links talking about the economy, they all
are experts yet disagree about everything banging hands on table,
getting red faced and angry, so I switched off. A motorbike is making
its unsteady progress through the village, Joao home from the bar,
dogs don’t bark, know the sound it is only when he is trying to get
off and fall they bark a little, angry voices, and then utter stillness.
I stroll through the village only street every window is shuttered not
letting out light it is like they think they have to pay extra if it does.
I walk down to the main road and hope anything would come to pass
enveloped as I’m by tediousness. A car drives past I spend minutes,
wondering where it is going. Back home I switch the TV back on,
a drone attack an important terrorist has been killed, as have eleven
other mostly children, collateral damage, but we fight a global war.
I wished for and found my Paradise on earth and it is bloody boring.

Premium MemberPerspicuous Surroundings

From sunrise in the morning, to sunset at night,
concerning knowledge, I have an insatiable appetite.
For the body and soul, there is ambrosia in a bowl.
Generous servings have me attaining my goal.
Progressive thought, both systematic and arbitrary,
have all of my faculties in solidarity.
I must not succumb to facts with mawkishness.
Tediousness can lead one to soporific listlessness.
I can attain truth and success through perseverance.
The key to the lock is maintaining diligence.
All that is illuminated, I can see through open eyes.
Only with alert consciousness for living can I realize,
I am in propinquity to attaining life’s ultimate prize.

Tenderness.

TENDERNESS.

On tentative waves of tenderness
We would go forward in attendance
Where softness in the dawn counts
Some flirtation of sunshine after dark.

Today the journey is short
Beyond tediousness of mordent expressions
Resting in the airs like some sovereign sounds
Crossing thresholds of the neglected lessers.

Stone statues allured by the shades
Clad in grey wearing trousers of the mist
Doleful expressions in quizzing of heart
Frequency of failures in a wistful start.

Revenant of a Soul

I feel like a Revenant of my former self
I'm lost to all, lost to my heart and soul
And yet I linger on

Unwanted by heaven or hell
Left here to finish my business

But yet there is nothing for me here
I am bored with this existence
Its tediousness tires me

I'm weary of this world
I don't like what it does to me

It takes my heart and twists my will
I cannot control myself sometimes
I lose what I am and what I believe

I can't stop it, its inevitable
I believe I will continue forever like this...

Each feeling, each emotional dart
strikes true to my heart, yet, it is not there
It is no longer part of this semi-existence

Its traversed like my soul to a high plane
A plane where it can no longer be torn asunder.

I fight every day just to feel what I once wished I could not
I fight for my self control as I grow to hate this land more and more
I fight on for some sort of reason in life

I don't know why I fight, its all I have....

Can'T Stand It Anymore

Can’t Stand It Anymore

Something’s wrong
Oh, it’s you…

I dislike your choices of what to wear today
I am put off by that complexion
I cannot stand that way you stand
With that superior air about you
I really can’t accept that way you giggle like it was a joke

I strongly dislike your straight A average
I really loathe your humor
I cannot stand your bubbly aura
I just can’t deal with your perfume
I absolutely abhor your choices
Of what you wish to pursue

I cannot stand your tediousness
I really hate your smile
I absolutely loathe your eyes
As equally as I hate your friendly persona
I just can’t look at that stupidly perfect little face
I can’t live with your little moans and groans
And especially not that annoying wailing you make called crying

I hate the fact that you’re constantly involved
I hate that little noise you make when bored
I hate your blatant honesty
I can’t stand the way you speak in riddles
I hate how you look at me most of all
Because of how you look at him
