Storms come
Tapper to showers
Calm returns
Earth making ready
For flowers
Sun reclaiming the sky
Rainbow~ prize-ribbon
Meadows gleaming
Bees tripping dutifully, busy
Matchmakers, introducing bloom
To bloom
Birds pairing, making nests
Brides and grooms, greeting guests
The valley quite a festive sight
Nature’s fond formal of Spring….

In our maniacal world madness cosplay nativity.
When sanctuary is cynical take cyanide outside in
a synchronized social suicide.
Life at your disposal realize life is disposable.
Lacking eye warble, below-zero countertop marble.
Stumble over the five o'clock Hobble.
Humble, Crumpled up macro-cookie crumble.
Spade shovel buried down transient mumble.
Blood musk parfume; false whale entrails.
Innards inward into inferior interior design.
Set fire to the nativity scene, in our maniacal world
It'll still continue in laughing, surround sound loud.
It'll still narcissistically orbit around me.
Outstanding flavour; some forever ever-lasting long.
Ever-after ended up ending fantastic. God dammit.
Gob-smacker, toe tapper, boot-smacker.
Folded laundry lay on the nighttime pavement.
It'll still go.
In the Age of Spin.
It just happen.
No way, It just happen?
It just happen.
It go like it just happen.
It go how it just happen.
What happen?
It just happen.

MIGHTY DAVID PRAISED AND DANCED BEFORE GOD (SAMUEL 6:14-16)
Mighty David praised and danced before God
David was a high stepper
A toe tapper
Man did He love God
Mighty David praised and danced before God
Mighty David praised and danced before God
And David danced before the Lord
And David danced before the Lord
Step, step O’ Hallelujah
Step, step O’ Hallelujah
Wearing His priestly garment;
David brought up shouts of joy
As he praised and dance
The people of Israel join in dance
Singing Hallelujah
Leaping and dancing before the Lord
David blessed the people
Fed them tween dances bread, cakes of dates and raisins
He just kept on praising
David danced before God

Picture a room with a mirror-type wall
And two dozen women, with tap shoes on all.
In front is the teacher, who’s showing the moves
As all of the dancers get into their grooves.
Listen as taps rat-a-tat on the floor,
Increasing in tempo and hard to ignore.
In back are the newbies or those a bit shy,
All doing their best to keep up and get by.
Feel the good spirits, the joy and delight
Of all kinds of women who chose to unite
To indulge in a one hour tap-dancing spree
And if you couldn’t guess, one such tapper was me!

I finally saw the debate,
My spirits prepared to deflate,
For I’d heard it was rough
(Lies are hard to rebuff)
But I needed to get it all straight.
I agree that Joe Biden looked weak
And he fumfers when trying to speak,
Yet the bully he faced
With his falsehoods disgraced
Every viewer while raising my pique.
Why Bash/Tapper allowed him to rant
While ignoring their questions, I grant
Made him look like a fool,
Though, despite ridicule,
To his fans it will not disenchant.
Both debaters most likely rehearsed
And in private, each other they’ve cursed.
Still, to watch made me mad
For, though one came off bad,
It’s the other I’m dreading the worst.

Forever you're gonna be my papa
Even if I no rich and I be palmwine tapper.
The joy you gave me by reincarnating
Is priceless and worth celebrating;
I knew you replaced yourself before you left
And even though I gleaned, I wept.
Table have turned and I am now your father,
And I shall love and guide you to the top of the ladder;
Alabi, amongst men you shall be a king,
Like a robin who amongst birds can sing
And amongst fathers I shall be a proud dad
To a son who in the life before was my dad;
Happy Dads day to us amazing men,
So sings my artful bamboo Pen.
I am Ayinde the lyrical genius!

That skin-and-bone-like,
Chocolate-colored veteran,
Fragile personality accession;
Ascends tallest of palms,
Committed to toddy-tap,
As it’s his hereditary profession...!
Driving upward and down,
Like a smart willing monkey,
He reaches the highest of height;
Sitting over the petite petioles,
As though it's a comfort car-seat,
Sets all spiders - meshes aright...!
Clears the now-soiled toddy-pots,
Crops the prolific flower-stumps,
Rectifies, like a surgeon, all clots;
Goes around the fronds gliding,
As though skiing on sky,
Support of nothing but angle-knots...!
Of all measures that attracts me,
Is his hurdling noble gallantly,
From one tree to another,
By way of stem-bridges;
There-from, like a rat,
Or as a missionary-squirrel,
On hard earth he reaches,
As though in water, he ditches...!

I got rhythm in my soul. I got that fire in my soul that makes me stand up and be bold. I know this world can be cold. I have that rhythm that makes me never skip a beat. I that something inside of me that makes you want to stand to your feet. Some may call me sassy, but no not me, I’m just classy. I got that rhythm, because I’m far beyond rehearsal. I’m on the stage for the final finale. I’m a show stopper, a jaw dropper. I’m that rhythm of a toe tapper. I’m the rhythm of the night. Believing in myself that everything will be alright. I’m that rhythm that makes you want to stand up for your rights and never give up without a fight. I’m that rhythm that keeps you going, and always knowing that as long as you got rhythm you can keep on going.

Sang like a whippoorwill, up high on a hill
Played trumpet like Satchmo, with panache and skill
To watch that man tap-dance, gave even Gregory Hines a thrill
As Ella Fitzgerald told us, 'Sammy's pure talent' distilled

PALMWINE
The tapper ascends the height,
To get it from the palm sap,
The height he descends having the mysterious gift of nature,
Crystal like the caspian sea.
Grey hairs with their cups at hand,
Ready to taste the feeling of gladness,
Gladness with sweetness that fills the soul,
The dead and weak are awakened by its savour,
The rejuvenator of the inner man ????
Bring a cup full of palmwine,
A cup made of ivory to a bride,
Let the bride seek the love of her youth amidst the crowd,
Men clamouring for the cup till the lover is long searched for and found,
And the taste binds their hearts together
Hearts of men!
Simulate the palmwine of its purity,
Let the thoughts thereof be of its sweetness,
The sweetness let it not be spilled on the ground,
But let it be poured into the weary souls.
Drink with loved ones,
With the keg in the middle being surrounded,
And let the jars be filled with happiness.

DRUMBEAT
The early morning silence,
Pierced by the melody of the birds,
And coarse craw of the cock,
The bleating of the goats and sheep for fresh fodders,
Squirrels hopping to and fro,
Devouring the ripe palm nuts atop the palm trees,
Leaves glittering from the morning dews,
And the caterpillar found its abode slippery.
The grey hair that breaks the kolanut,
The hot drink that follows to waken the body as grey hairs would say,
The entreaties made to the "Chi",
Local brooms held by the kids greets the brownish sand,
Morning ash cartered away from the fire place,
The palm wine tapper sets out for the day,
Many a thing happened swiftly,
And morning was gone .
The loud sound of the ikoro,
Echoing in all corners of the village,
Beckoning on valours to array themselves,
I jolted out out of my hut,
In my redcap and my flute at hand,
With my flute played appraisal notes,
To announce my arrival to my hero.
Behold the hero,
The lion that kills the tiger,
"Odumnaegbuagu"
The glory of his people,
How strong art thou oh man of valour,
Lets appear in the battlefield ,
For the day is of victory,
Oh! My hero.

pen, paper, stereo, a tapper
me with Eric B a nice plate of fish
before you begin to take the great plunge with the pen
hold your breath and count to the number ten
box, dice, loose change & credit card
we get tide up with knots
hands that welcome new pursuits
never relent in your pursuits
rejection letters
there is a part that explodes in me
e mails in the delete function
learn to think before you write
what did your contemporaries do
perhaps we have bitten off far more then we could chew
a renegade that's got it made
faces in the window with storms in the night
learn proper grammar
put into the right format
working to hard can give you a heart attack
learn from your mistakes
call it fate
yet someday you will succeed
it's called determination
knock you to your knees

Omawunmi
The beauty in you speak about you
When the sun is on vacation to the west.
The dimples on the top of your smile
Runs a vampire of emotions to my soul.
In your vein lies the fantasy of my eyes.
Omawunmi
Handsomeness in your coven is madness
That buttress the moon and duck actions.
Ajani, the palm wine tapper carved image of
your laughter on the surface of his palm wine,
Ajanakun made a flute of your giggle to the king.
Omawunmi
You are the market that serve only the great,
You are the tap that only run for the kings,
At the sole of your feet queens lie for perfection.
At the sound of your name Omawunmi,
The sun cackles with the tickles of the sky on him.
Omawunmi
The great Omawunmi from the west,
I have made the bed of the moon a foot mat
For the coming of your guiltless feet and
For the visiting of your humble eyes home.
The birds have no question of your beauty.
Omawunmi
Sing me a soulful song of the parrot,
I want to see the movement of your lips,
The expression in your searching eyes,
The unsatified rhythm of your blues,
I want to know you beyond myself Omawunmi.
