we burn and learn
The Woman Who Could Eat Wood & Other Stories is a gathering of dark-serious, funny, and emotional poems/stories showing people, hybrids, and objects born different. In their eyes, and to the normal, they’re born useless to the world – weird outsiders who try to make use of themselves with various degrees of success and failure (some die).
Synopsis Of A Miracle
Miracle Man
12/14/2021
Clinically I had died,
I’m told Shock paddles hit my chest 7 times to bring me back.
I had surgery for spinal stenosis then 15 days later
I spent 2 months in the hospital recovering from the “Widow Maker”
On December 29th then Sudden Cardiac arrest three days later on January 1st 2017. (only 8% recover from S.C.A.) Most body functions were shutting down and 16 bags hung on a chrome drip frame sustaining life. My wife was told that there was little hope, there were just too many things going against me all at once. Then My Miracle happened, within hours things immediately changed and in 7 days only 1 bag hung on the drip frame. Doctors told my wife they couldn’t explain it but a miracle had taken place. Jesus had touched my life again. One of the most heartfelt / emotional moments of my life
has been when My Cardiologist entered the exam room a year later (the day after Easter) and referred to me as Lazarus.
God has used my life to witness to Doctors and others since that time and that is why the things I write are signed Miracle Man.
Just felt the need to say this today.
Tom
Closing my eyes now why cuz I don't want to see the sunshine;
Holding my head up high why because I don't want to run into a street sign
Opening my mouth now why because I have something to say
Reaching out my arms and hands up toward heaven why
Because praising Jesus and my God is the only way

Crossroads Tale: Synopsis
Jumbled, fumbled
thoughts fester floors
such a toxicologist,
bleeding heart
ignores,
Channels his veins
neath tiled floors
of a bar joint
worked by
whores,
His essence fills the walls
challenged by cigarettes,
cigars, concoctions and
lonely tear ducts that
drains and fills the
devil's brew of
tasteless
breakups
In all off this bruhaha he
gathers his thoughts of
what has or to be
somewhere is a
guitar, who had
bested the
best,
Little did he know that
one who he had
blasted in that
match was,
the master
The young man brought
vigor to one who was
stale but hungered,
as challenged less
became his demise
for none in the
world would
daringly
despise
So it was winning or losing for
the master knew the kid had
already won irrespective
as being challenged was
the determining
factor,
For they both won because
the master was finally
challenged, by a boy
who offered his soul
to be the best and
on return, he
gave him a
free ticket
to fame.

A Synopsis At Sixty-Nine
By: Tom Wright

A time when life’s not chocolate cake
When gait has slowed and sight is dimming
My cholesterol is high and joints all ache
And packed on pounds are not trimming
An enlarged prostate now gives concern
And blood pressure looms out of control
Though for the hot wing days I still yearn
They have no place within my present goal
I struggle to keep my blood sugar down
While diligently trying to eliminate Carb
But most days’ readings bring on a frown
Eating has become just one constant barb
If it grows in dirt or comes from a tree
It’s interlaced with carbs and must be sparing
If I run it down to kill it, no carbs and it’s free
But remember, fat content I’m also paring
If my meal tastes good so I’ve been told
To quickly spit it out, don’t let it wallow
But the temp in Hades will be mighty cold
Once across my gums I chew and swallow
So I swallow pills to combat each thing
While heart, lungs and liver are still fine
I think of the adverse effects pills bring
And listen to my stomach growl and whine.

Sense a kind grace flowing in pure goodness;
Yonder beyond trace knowing apt finesse.
Now in sure time growing in calm hollow;
Option in clear rhymes that feels so mellow.
Ply a fond touch reaping in true gladness;
Succinct smiles fling much in crazy madness.
Ideas hint motive in excellent glow;
Streams beyond optic the treasured fine flow.
Doyen of word scripts that hurl a strong sway;
Imprint exquisite in prompt verse array.
Amber shades lighting the swerve in the mists;
Look upon sightings where words mind the gist.
Obtain the motions in unmoving calm;
Greet then attention beyond saving balm.

Poet Author
Gary Fields
troubled, insane
my life has been nothing
i had hidden everything i have
to the cave of my past
where the dungeons lead to nowhere
and where sanity cries out for death
when all of this time
i had been seeking the sincerity of the grave
and when the monastery has shed blood
the cathedral has slain million
but why am i wanting begging, longing
send me to the place of forever
where tears suffer the smiles
my theory of insatiable despair
sorrow has filled my emptiness
the laughter of those that cry
how can you compete with desire
if the price is winning the entire grief
eternal malfunction of friendship
that anatomy of vanity
you will love to hate me
Strong feelings flow off, spirit low falls
How free she can be when her emotions are released
Passion flows like twinkling stars, burning balls.
Sensuality comes from deep within the being, a beast!
Amor hits, stays, spreading clasps hearts that are deceased.
Running with naked fingers and toes through the halls.
Sensuality comes from deep within the being, a beast.
Passion flows like twinkling stars, burning balls!
A whimsical rarity made her perspire like winter falls.
Easily influenced in rare manner, as I run fingers between her toes creased.
Passion flows like twinkling stars, burning balls.
Sensuality comes from deep within the being, a beast.
I'll assist her, unbuttoning her clothes, delicately at least.
Her charms have overcome my sensibilities, in my halls.
Sensuality comes from deep within the being, a beast.
Passion flows like twinkling stars, burning balls!
