A Synopsis of Love

A SYNOPSIS OF LOVE:

Love is not a folklore appreciated only in hindsight
Nor a fairytale told only to children under the moonlight
Love is real but rare as gem, like diamond and amethyst
It is far more valuable than magnetite and cassiterite
Yet amazingly ubiquitous like sand and laterite
To all of mankind; a holy book reader or atheist

To the lucky brethren, love is an Angel Divine
Springing forth joy, peace and harmony from within the spine
It is the golden gaze of the early morning sun
To the unlucky, love is a demon from the depths of Hades
Stealing sleep, creating chaos and the denial of fun
It is a ghost of darkness from the shadows of the shades

Love vanquishes all evil; human or demonic
It reconciles all enemies; foreign or domestic
Upholding the edicts of Emperor Constantine
Amplifying the idea and sacrifice of St Valentine
It is the only stimulant, consumed not in clandestine
That can purge the cholera of war out of humanity's intestine

Some of us may have loved, lost and seen trauma
And during our period of perplexity and dozens of drama
We may have cursed and wished to bath with molten magma
But love heals, it forgives and overpowers the concept of Karma
True love is so beautiful that it creates a sweet panorama
I pray it finds you, for it soothes and pampers like spa and sauna
