What was celebration years ago
people's hearts were to their birth
I walked and plagued my mind
west was born as an after thought
supplanting all others
to pleasant lands we betrothed
the winds came gently
october sneered in a umpirish manner
friends flaked the golden daffodils
refugees shorn of rights
to the dim lands
shorn to the apology of the east
now we are alone
nothing to think
Male bees are useless layabouts
Gather no nectar or pollen
Can't feed themselves
Have no stingers
Yet World War III
Will be fought with a swarm
Of a billion, billion drones
Some made of cardboard
Mind how the malingers
Have risen, supplanting
Planes, ships, tanks, missiles and subs
In gentle thoughts, flowing rivers
Reaching beyond the thoughts, panting
Trembling the heart, faith delivers
Stardust glimpse, light so enchanting
Journey through the dreams to inspire
Passionate fires, fully granting
Moments of hope we can admire
Stardust glimpse, light so enchanting
Reflecting grace found in belief
Notes of devotion supplanting
Darkness falls to the heart’s relief
Stardust glimpse, light so enchanting
In gentle thoughts, flowing rivers
Stardust glimpse, light so enchanting

My love travels lengthy distances,
Before yesterday and beyond tomorrow.
Its journey encounters many obstacles,
With raptured joy and painful sorrow.
These times yield lessons always, that is,
If there's a willingness to learn.
While supplanting some long-held beliefs,
Though fearing failure if you crash and burn.
This emotional energy displays great power,
As it navigates through day and night.
While maintaining a course ever forward,
Mapping through blazing sun or moonlight.
When all the words are spoken,
And everything has been said.
The love that consumed, finds eternal peace,
Among the living and the dead.
Our window
Outside
Is filthy with autumn webs
The spiders tricked
By kitchen lights
Supplanting the appetite of summer sunrises
Orphaned leaf
Tangles and struggles
Strumming the harp to this windy day
House strokes its white whiskers
Time
Never looks over its shoulder
Or around the corner
I sit still
With broom and rag not lifted
Upstairs I hear
Yesterday’s patter
Of my faded children
Climbing from bed in their pajamas
While I hum to myself
With the autumn spiders.
SIBILANT SESSION
Struggling in simple silence
Sudden static sounds survive
Supplanting a sort of serenity
Serving to satisfy the several
Sulking in sole secluded state
Seriously spiteful in severance
Still seething, seeing something
Senses stealing any sensitivity
Stopping a shiny silver smile
Sending signals to slowly sink
Submerged in silent salty seas
Sibilant souls sadly surrender
Fragile flakes weave a soft duvet of snow
supplanting Fall colors with Winter white.
And blustery breezes begin to blow:
as a sullied sun slowly slips from sight
to the honks of migrating geese in flight.
Winter wails, amidst a flurry of flakes;
Her crystalline aura, composed of ice.
And She starts to freeze the rivers and lakes;
holding life ransom, in cold's crushing vise:
while awaiting Spring's warmth to meet her price.
Fall colors get whitewashed across the land,
Autumn lies buried beneath drifts of snow.
And the naked trees, stripped of their leaves, stand
barren, rooted to where nothing can grow:
even though it used to, not long ago.
A cold chill rides atop a frigid breeze:
all the songbirds have long since flown away.
And the temperature drops by degrees,
till it is too cold to go out to play:
and children are stranded indoors all day.

First I heard the rotor blades,
Their noisiness supplanting
The birdsong taking traffic’s place;
Then I heard the chanting.
Peering out the window, I was
Shaken and surprised
To see crowds of people marching;
It was later televised.
Wearing masks and holding placards
They advanced with strong intent,
Linked by youth, resolve and passion
And united in dissent.
Would their peaceful protest shatter
Like the ones the night before
And might looting and destruction
Happen right outside my door?
I was pulled back to the 60’s
When we rallied seeking peace,
So defiant with our armbands,
Facing off against the police.
But this time, in my apartment,
Safe nine stories from the ground,
I looked down in disbelief,
My sadness sweeping and profound.
The Infernal Serpent
coiled ’round the soul of man
strangles the love and understanding
imbued by the Creator
supplanting it with hatred and distrust.

To say the universe always existed violates every concept of our logic.
The origin of our totality could not have been a spontaneous event.
A beginning requires a beginner. We have no concept of what always was, except by supplanting what might be with what is through faith. Faith permits us to believe the incredible, which means; extraordinary things do not always require empiricle evidence.
Faith is unconstructed. It's a gift. It's either presented to you through conviction, or it's not. You eiher possess it, or you do not.
With faith, we know love and with love we find strength. Without faith, love cannot exist and without love, existance would be inconsequential.
To deny the existance of God is to doubt the love in our own significance...
Whenever I... do remember you
Whenever I...
do remember you...
I feel..a tender warmth,
consoling my pain, as,
your compassionate heart
was what rescued me...
from the bane,
of my fractured state.
Shine on, dear one!
Whenever I...
do remember you...
unsurpassed joy...
washes over me,
like a tidal wave,
vanquishing my sorrow, and,
refreshing my aching soul.
Shine on, dear one!
Whenever I...
do remember you...
a placid peace,
overwhelms my mind,
supplanting charcoal skies,
with resplendent beaming rays,
from your shining eyes.
Shine on, dear one!
Whenever I...
do remember you...
I come alive, resurrected by,
the fragrance of your love,
I am revived, by inhaling,
perfumed memories of our...
amour sans fin.
Shine on, dear one!

The fear hiding in the shadows
Terror and fear inhabit the mind of the unbelieving soul
Gloom and doom unite together hiding in the shadows
Chaos and anarchy combine filling humans with panic and fright
War machine starts it's engines again, preparing for the fight
Malevolent rapaciousness is an obvious sign of the times
Evil last days are marked by vitriolic hatred and violent crime
As a novel's suspense is shattered, when first, is read the last chapter
So this evil world's end is just the prelude to our "happily ever after".
If you only knew what God knows, you would, know how the story goes
Then your inner peace could grow, supplanting the fear hiding in the shadows.

I know that I have called this a sonnet, and I recognise that it falls short of such an esteemed form, but it is my first attempt, please forgive me.
in SUPPORT of GOOGLE'S SELF DRIVE CAR
a black tarmac warrior
a technology killing humanity worrier
plotting a course at one hundred kilometres an hour
his fatigued mind begins to wander
they want to take away his freedom
to replace his skills and wisdom
superseding his brain with one of silicon
technology supplanting humanity beyond his reason
Isaac and I Robot showed the way
when with technology protecting humanity we will rue the day
while his mind remains resolute, his car begins to sway
because humanity in control is the only way
then in his old age, his is the first generation
with no licence, but independent automated motion
