Premium MemberTrixie Wants to Write Poetry

meet my muse Trixie.
I want to draw.
she wants to play in the Thesaurus.
Trixie is a freebooter, marauder, pirate, she plans to win.

I sketch a monkey, elephant and acrobat.
I am in circus mode.
Trixie slams her green eyes over the big book.
she is persnickety, determined, and forceful.

fat blue Thesaurus is a harpy; she flips open.
I stare at these words - deaden, anesthetized, stupefy.
write them down! Trixie demands.
she is more trouble than a gewgaw, trinket or knickknack.

I avert my eyes, not wanting to play with words
now drawing a circus tent, and a popcorn box.
red and white striped popcorn box has arms and legs.
he sticks out his tongue in maniacal cartoon laughter.

Trixie flips some pages of this dreaded book.
gleaming, sparkling, glistening stand out.
magnify, enlarge and amplify bite me on the left arm.
I am not writing right now! I tell her.

she sticks out her tongue.
eager to work on a magnum opus, creative masterpiece.
I can hardly work on the giraffe.
curious I am to read words where she is pointing

lionize, glorify, elevate
vanish, disappear, dissolve
I begin drawing a lion, trying to break my muse's spell.

Premium MemberShakespeare Be Damned

I’m sick of wanderin’ o’er the page
In search of distant, mystic sage

muttered manta that confuse
stupefy my stoic muse

torment the silence of the keys
while in the distance Shakespeare flees

to curse his feather blotted ink
his red, red rose now turning pink

yet still I sit behind the veil
challenge him and always fail

there are those who disagree
some say he wasn’t one, but three

conspiring in mock defiance
of poetry’s inane compliance

counting syllables and rhymes
that challenged then, the present times

and yet I steal a line or two
in vain attempt to make it new

to think, somehow, it glorifies
the master when I plagiarize

Premium MemberDeepest Darkest Mysteries of Ocean

Mystery oozes forth under the ocean’s flanks
Things are devoured before they know they were alive
Gulps by large animals do not concern the eaten
They give themselves up easily. There is no battle.

Sharks barely swoop and swish, showing up wherever.
Doing what they can to survive, making no apologies.
A world humans cannot fathom is beyond their reach.
In the deepest darkest depths of the ocean.

We would be terrified if we knew what lives down there.
Luckily, we can only sense the danger.
Even that is more than enough to stupefy some of us.
I am one of those.

Premium MemberWondrous Creation

The mystery of the universe unconceivable
The celestial space merging with infinity
As the time flows into eternity
Amazing blueprint made from nothingness.

A speck in the starry galaxy
A spinning planet critically poised
Earth revolves with precision surviving collision
Astounding design of stable uniqueness.

Life a product of special conjunction
Evolved in awesome forms as intended
As man the ultimate marvel, flower the sublime
Magnificent creation of wondrous finesse.

All these created by the One supreme
I’m wonderstruck for they stupefy me.

Shadow and Light

There is no shadow of light
because the shadow only stupefy..
 light, on the contrary amazes...
The clear only clarifies!
shadow of shadow only
when there is some light...
In the light, there is no secret,
 all is in sight...
But it is in the shadow that
  the mystery dwells... !

Premium MemberIf I Had a Magic Wand

If I had a magic wand
I’d stupefy my enemies into becoming friends.
With me and with each other.

I would wave it around in New York City
And chant words that would spread love and hope
From that city to Tokyo and back.

I would build the homeless homes with it
and I would show them how to plant gardens,
So we could feed the third world countries.

If I had a magic wand.

Premium MemberLarge Testes

Certain crickets have the largest testes compared to their body mass
14% of their entire body weight even including their huge ass
If it applied to us guys
Our weight would stupefy
Can't imagine, would need a wheelbarrow, it's hard not to be crass

Time To Grow Up, Time To Let Go

A no brainer, my darling, to continue playing games
Steaming hot one moment, next moment blowing cold
As though cold water couldn’t quench love flames
When like a rogue driver brave braking action you withhold

Hoping a head on collision you can so prevent
With your eyes closed and bullying tactics pushed forward
To actualize an evolutionary event
In which we reap our fair reward

But for the umpteenth time
We run round and round in sterile circles
Aiming for progress only to mime an irrelevant rhyme
Expecting to work miracles

In scenarios you poison
On purpose
As I shout ‘treason’
From the servile source

You glorify
In earnestness
Only to magnify and stupefy
The sadness

That drowns my wonderful world in a sea of sorrow
Without any relief
Yesterday, today or tomorrow
As your mischief

Heightens my determination once and for all
To brighten up prospects for joy
To return to you and I despite the fall
From grace which at our expense debacles enjoy

Unless either you and I decree it’s time to let go
Or it’s high time we grew up
Escapades, futilities, fantasies and failures to forgo
To gulp good tidings from our lofty love cup.

Two Besotted Beggars In Our Lives

Prejudice and malice
Both besotted beggars
Gamboling, galumphing, griping and gripping a solstice
In limpid lives whose tigers and daggers

Stagger, simulate and strut along
Craven
Oblong, wrong on a song gong
Sloven and driven

Unexpectedly pop up in interpersonal interactions
Writhing like serpents
Wreaking heady havoc in their insurrections
Contents, events, proponents and deponents

To defy, modify and stupefy logic
Contemplate disunity
In a rogue republic
Whose unity

The besotted beggars bring down
Tearing one member from another
Assuming every crown
Becomes anathema as Jack and Jill like each other

To the detriment
Discord prejudice and malice promote and quote
In every contrary condiment
Ever taught or caught.

Premium MemberSci-Fi

Once long ago there was a clear blue sky
Where roamed free bird and butterfly
That’s when came the idea to super citify
And to pollution creators deify
All put their brain power to diversify

Silenced anyone who dared go awry
Soon mile high skyscrapers did gratify
And every square inch did occupy
Way too many to quantify
So it was nature they did damnify

Now skies are filled with traffic jams that horrify
Greenish rain waters that relentlessly acidify
Mountain-high billboard ads that do electrify
An extravagance of gadgets enough to stupefy
Implanted technology meant to dehumanify

In light of superfluity, let me just plainly oversimplify
Scientists need to eat a big piece of humble pie
There’s just no way to justify
Why colorful sunsets went by the by
And why no one remembers the aroma of apple pie

Wright Words

I want to be a right or
Not be writ ten off
Like a drunken sail or
Quaffing at a trough.

I want to be a right or
And stupefy with words
Not a punch-drunk fight or
Hurting for a wards.

I want to be a right or
Even if not write
If only I could spell or
Make it sound less tright.

I want to be a wordwright
To hammer, not type
Make thought caught in flight
Concrete, not hype.

Western Skies of Spring

We have waited long and now momentarily pause
to lose ourselves in the Western skies of spring;
our mellow looks follow them until dusky evening...
ask the awe-captured painter how they seduce!

Even the big mountains in the background seem blue,
below them discover lovely bluebells that surely ensue
beauty by waving in prairies dotted with yellow daisies;
spend an afternoon in contemplating the red canyons!

And resting beneath the motionless clouds, be dazzled
by radiance: deep moments of awareness can stupefy;
go back in time by imagining the same California sky
that the old explorers saw heading West to seek gold.

Walk farther towards the blue lake, wide and clear,
it steals indigo from the above sky to look pretty;
the cactus in full bloom proclaim the desert's glory
once seen by young, wild cowboys who chased deer.
