Deepest Darkest Mysteries of Ocean

Mystery oozes forth under the ocean’s flanks
Things are devoured before they know they were alive
Gulps by large animals do not concern the eaten
They give themselves up easily. There is no battle.

Sharks barely swoop and swish, showing up wherever.
Doing what they can to survive, making no apologies.
A world humans cannot fathom is beyond their reach.
In the deepest darkest depths of the ocean.

We would be terrified if we knew what lives down there.
Luckily, we can only sense the danger.
Even that is more than enough to stupefy some of us.
I am one of those.

Me too, Caren. From things I see being discovered in the depths, I wonder about the things not yet discovered!

I imagine there might be worlds down thee of which we will never know.
