You are in us - we will never die,
We come alive as you breathe Life inside.
Our spirits rise and soar anew,
Forever awakened, alive with you.
Your Cross has sealed our destiny,
Now we hold every victory key.
Life's doorframe, marked in Blood so pure,
A sign that your promises endure.
We love your presence, thoughts, and ways,
Your Words ignite our hearts with praise.
We have the mind of Christ within our soul,
You move and shift, you make us whole.
You grant us wisdom, insight so rare,
Unveiling life with tender care.
Once hidden in parables, now made plain,
You break the bonds of doubt and pain.
You are our awesome God, so bright,
Who turns all things to pure delight.
No weapon formed shall do us harm,
Your angel armies guard with strong arm.
Your eyes are on us, ever near,
You bless us with gifts beyond compare!

All at once I absquatulated,
in hindsight now I know why.
The craziness simply escalated,
I no longer held the desire to try.
The pellucid message in silence
is a fierce strong-arm motivator.
Sucked into an act of defiance,
I will not indulge an instigator.
Speaking with a cogent message
I have expunged every syllable.
With no words I have set the stage
for a civil dialog to be permissible.
Now it’s your turn to open it up,
apply for a little bit of restitution.
You must swallow your pride cup
if you want to apply for absolution.
Time to become a showstopper,
no need to be unruly or obscene.
I say ‘Be wise my little grasshopper,
there is more than one jelly bean.’

Bullying and trying
To strong arm people
Isn’t going to work
Most people believe in
Fighting back by
Fighting fire with fire

These are the epitaphs of the sea
left exposed every night by the tide;
Pounding
pulsing
rolling in
rolling out..
A shadow of a siren’s story,
sly secrets subdued now simply shriek;
Rolling in
pulsing
pounding
rolling out..
Broken sand dollars and shell bits merge,
forging a force to be conscious of;
Delicately dubbed dominatrix,
a strong surge can strong arm anyone;
A wind pounding
rolling in
waves pulsing
rolling out..
These are chiseled mermaid epitaphs.

Ruffling the feathers
Of your expectations.
Rilke to the left.
The portrait of Alf
The back of my left ear.
What unconscionable theives,
These Time Czars,
Where we live with the scars,
As joy bounces on the crevices.
I see you in the dark in some cave.
Let me be your bombastic populist.
The Strong Arm of the Soul.
Play in the light of least resistance.
My garden grows in the garden of your heart.
My every breathe is your eternal existence.
Bite the doughnut.
Press for hugs.

Behold the Lord has made
the meadows and the glade
with His power displayed,
His strong arm did unearth
that on heaven and earth
He watches every birth,
Over us, He stands guard,
His grace and love unbarred,
For Him, nothing is hard,
Mercies new every morn,
His glory does adorn
Each being that is born,
The earth renders His praise
for awe-inspiring ways
God does truly amaze
Nothing impossible,
When we are docible,
He is cognoscible,
A mighty God we serve,
Each step, grace does preserve,
More than what we deserve,
So let us thank our Lord,
Our life, He has restored,
And saved us with love cord.

Feedback - flight or fight – it’s due to enzymes.
God put it in our brain, safeguard for crimes;
fear is normal, a good thing many times.
Facts fog up when fear uses its strong-arm.
What is meant to keep us sheltered from harm
can fail just like any other alarm.
A freeze from fear forces all hands on deck.
When fears become phobias, take time, check
your fear can be a liar, a roughneck.
Facing the fact of a fear of failure
pray to God; ask others to help for sure.
With effort on your end, you’ll find a cure.
Focus on the freedom you can achieve
when your irrational fear goes on leave.

This is a reasonnet - four tercets rhymed AAA,BBB,CCC,DDD, and a couplet rhymed EE. I have used pentameter, but that is not required according to the creator of this form, Reason A. Poteet (yes, that's me).

Mitts on we're ready
to take on the world at large
school day winter memories
we threw them curve balls
one fast strong arm at a time
snow ball fights were so much fun

When you thought you were alone,
In the middle of the storm,
My child, you should have known,
When the coldest wind has blown,
I was there and kept you warm.
Through the mountains, through the valleys,
I hid you out of all the harm,
When you searched for worldly rallies,
I led you towards meadows and green alleys,
I carried you on my strong arm.
When you were about to fall,
When you needed hugs and love,
When you felt so weak and small,
without friends around to call,
I was watching over from above.
I will always stand by you,
I'm your Father, I won't let go,
Every day I'll help you through,
Soon, with Me, you'll start anew,
In the eternal bright, white glow.

He placed a strong arm
Around my small form
Carrying me to the darkness
The dreaded, musty
Cellar, where canning jars
Lined the clammy shelves
And I felt the caress
Of spider webs falling
Near my naked face
I was always a little reluctant
When riding his waist
Into the damp, cool room
Where a dirt floor
Left me fearful, loathe
To entering the feared place
Alone, but I was with him
My gentle defender
He would never let that spider
Get me – would he?
There were moments
When I felt the worry
Radiate on my skin
Dank as the vault where
We found the delicious
Grape juice I would carry
Back home with me
From Granny’s storehouse
Of yummy treats
The leftovers from a garden
That had dried up
And turned back to dirt
And Pa was just kind enough
To remember how much I loved
That sweet nectar flavored
With dark purple grapes
I don’t remember when it started
And I don’t remember how long it went on
I only remember the mouthwatering
Sweetness meeting my tongue
Flavoring these moments
With whispers of love

Whose lips descend
to mock the pursed recluse
Lives trembling mute hand
They who laugh refuse
the strong arm
of yesteryear.
His the pastoral symphony
the "peace that passeth"
Through the acid heart
Unseared, and rest
the troubled soul
free of fear.

What gets possibly gained from poetic encounters?
A friendship sets sail though mast’s shadows can’t merge
more than sheets in the wind that two sailors might set in defiance
of oceans, whose trembling waves surf on their opposite shores?
Is it likely ship’s rhythm survives breeze filled waters,
a leaning, you recognize, says what to purge?
You still trust in a star group long past, hope to save an alliance,
you first learned to steer by at night (who trusts sea semaphores)?
Does a ship dare (becalmed) think a storm’s not in offing
or trust if one comes she might make up lost ground?
Winds that rhyme (fill day’s mainsail) may find night time’s whale songs good omen
while night skies can frustrate all reason when stars don’t appear.
A day’s poem’s safe harbor does not lead to scoffing,
in each one’s fond glance, a glad memory found.
A fair hint you admire how it says what it says makes you yeoman,
at least, free or slave, kith or kin. My strong arm holds you dear!

I have
No memories of last Thanksgiving Day,
Not one! It was the first you know
Without my son.
And yet I cooked and served the meal,
By my own hand,
As delicious , they say, as always
And just as grand.
It was just five years ago,
Another Thanksgiving Day,
We got the call that told us
Their dad had passed away.
I'd gone to bring him home
For just the day.
He was too weak to go but told me
To greet them anyway.
The turkey was in the oven,
There was no way I could stall.
I was making the gravy when
I got the dreaded call.
My son was there with his strong arm,
To help me all the way.
The others too, so loving and dear.
I well remember that day.
I recall how they did all the work
And made me rest.
Even my great-grandchildren
Passed the test.
But last Thanksgiving day,
My son no longer there.
The others thought perhaps,
I'd had time to repair.
February to November,
With nine months to find my way,
I was still on autopilot
On last Thanksgiving day.

Welcome me to the heaven of your manhood
That I shall sing romantic tales to your ears in sweet mood
Come to my breast and take my milk as wine
That no other visit would shake my feet as thine
Embrace my body from crown to my feet
For I shall give my best,my best be your ever best
Kiss my honey tasting ruby lips
Which shall redden your heart and comfort your chest
Put a young strong arm around my waist
Oh prince charming my bed had long await
Curse my eyes to awake at night
That such night shall be called a night
Let the music of my bed play smooth and silent
That I shall moan in tongue so calm and quiet
If a night is not enough to feed your pleasure
Then come to my bed in nights of countless measure
Give me love such love I have been missing
Make me a woman prince charming
