Premium MemberIs AI Friend or Foe

Is AI a staunch friend with double face
that whispers “I love you, but will replace
Do its words capture a thought we just had
write it much better; if so, why be mad

Its chest of words is much greater by far
synonym surplus, its door stands ajar
by the way, their paintings lovely, also
Can there be wrong in the things they bestow

In our minds linger a strong scence of fear
as the future is becoming more clear
If our brains become inactive, then stall
AI will, in a word, shrug as we fall

Shadows fall on the words we try to mix
AI will ask, “why do humans exist”
Perhaps our love affair should be erased
Before we become only Unused Space

Premium Memberworker bee makes the rules

Chuck has rules for his children
for his house, truck and wife
his rules are inflexible
staunch edicts in his life

a rule for eating, for putting things away
a rule for gardening and swimming in the bay
Chuck’s rules are obsessive, some are silly too
But since none of them are working, what else can his family do?

Premium Member Strength of a Friendship

Sometimes we just need a friend to hold us up,
like a vine on a garden wall, not to speak
but to listen and catch us if we fall. ~ by poet

Whenever trouble follows my every move
and tongues wag at me as if to disapprove
all of the things I have done or didn't do,
you are the one person who sees me through.

You are like a sturdy vine growing on a wall,
the reason why I never crumble and fall,
the staunch ally whose arms keep me standing
when tragedy's mandates are too demanding.

A smile from you when you hold my hand
makes it clear that you really do understand
that what I need most then is for you to listen
when tears flowing from my eyes begin to glisten.

You are the friend who always keeps me strong
when hardships in my life go miserably wrong.
We support each other so neither of us will fall.
You are the flowering vine on my garden wall.

War

Before the guns and bombs were made
the clubs and fists were swung
names for numbers now we trade
the senseless turned all numb

crumbled blocks broken down
create, destroy, rebuild
a three ringed circus paints a town
the crop gives up its yield

when fields demark a hospital
operations carry hope
what's kept for some is lost for all
descent, a slippery slope

the yoke is held on common ground
the round encasement smoked
logic is stuck on what was found
when starched and staunch men spoke

to quote with quaint eloquence
will mask whose fate was sealed
an absence of benevolence
when truths have been revealed.

Premium MemberMom Holds Another Opinion

He perforated her ideas with an axe
Alternative facts; alternative facts
She ignored his staunch idiocy
A union between them could never be

She was as open as he was closed and opposed
She exuded honesty, he usually looked stiff and posed
They will never get along, one of us said after another
Opposites sometimes do well, said our optimistic grandmother

Win gold
be bold

Long run
such fun

High jump
speed bump

Grand prize
all eyes

Close race
in chase

Drab match
I catch

Ground stroke
no joke

Tiebreak
heartache

Foot fault
must halt

Forehand
so grand

Deuce court
report

Drop shot
on spot

Backspin
just in

Closed stance
advance

First serve
hold nerve

All out
no doubt

Arm ball
your call

Back foot
well put

Feet sore
crowd roar

Pit stop
right flop

Air jacks
not lax

Catch fence
immense

Choose cone
in zone

Downforce
of course

Dry line
sounds fine

Black dot
so what

Box-kick
smart flick

Breakdown
don’t frown

Eight-man
staunch fan

Fend-off
not half

Fly half
big laugh

Five-eight
high rate

Foul play
no way

Free kick
quite slick

Full-back
don’t slack

Knock-on
now gone

Loose head
instead

Pop pass
first class

Red card
off guard

Set piece
they tease

Shoeing
booing

Touch judge
won’t budge

Midcourt
retort

High clear
hear hear

Backstroke
awoke

Duck-Dill
instil

Frontcrawl
your call

Grab start
look smart

Pull Buoy
alloy

Swim Down
don’t clown

Wish above all

I refuse to stand alone
I call on my bothers and sisters in faith
We will not be suade by misguided trends
We will be focused and staunch in our charity and kindness
We may bend but we will not shatter
We love all and wish all good fortune
And desire all the best of life

I Am The Centre Of The Universe

I give myself a staunch,
I even have my lunch,
I don't give a hunch,
But I give myself a munch,
I don't want to throw myself a punch,
I didn't resemble as such,
I didn't pronounce that much,
I give away to luck,
I found myself a prick,
I don't get myself sick,
I didn't know there was such a prank,
I want to be frank,
I didn't want my heart to sink,
But give me a lamb shank,
For inhaling oxygen in the tank.

Steadfast

Staunch is our Lord, friend anywhere,
True friend, like jewel, precious and rare,
Everlasting blessings guides,
Accept true love at our sides,
Devoted to leading to divine,
Founded great faith, yours and mine,
Acknowledge each human race,
Steady path, His immortal face,
Trust God's bridge to mortal grace.

Lost souls

From the death
Comes echoes from graves
From where the master of darkness reigns
And his servants cometh to serve
Haunting the living

From the spiritual land
Their story is only murmured
Of rejected spirits from the graves
And disowned souls from heaven
That roam in darkness to capture more souls

Souls that want more souls to join them
Where flesh is converted to meals
And blood drank to hail the master of darkness
Chanting satanic verses
Mocking staunch believers
Exchanging their souls for money and fame

"Your soul belongs to us,
Our secrets to keep and behold,
For if you defy you shall die"
The master of darkness commands

Son of man
Look upon the skies
Where master among master sits on the throne
And from far He keeps watch
He shall never forsake you
Thirst for salvation
And save your soul from the third of rejected ones

To the Godless Goons of Mob India

RamaRajya, Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violent utopia of mutual tolerance, has no place for bigots who lynch and leech the Weak.

Lynch my body
Pinch my soul
Punch my pride
Drench my blood

Staunch be your henchmen
Bunch of bigoted hooligans
Flinch us they from progress
Wrench us they from justice

Exhaust every trick in your bag
Pull every arrow off your quiver
Bribe your cheerleaders forever
Swing your dagger far and deeper

Behold! Destiny’s Wheel will one day turn
In your own inferno shall you burn
Hate will then find no buyers
Fade shall every Fake Soothsayers

Rama’s Rajya will then re-assign
Love and equality will re-reign
Unity and Diversity will re-align
Tolerance will do India define

The picture on the parlor wall

The picture on the parlor wall
Is dishevelled and dramatic
It's sullen bronzing ornate frame
Belies something problematic

The imagery is deafening
The figure stands enigmatic
The scenery bereft of life
Is staunch and proudly Pragmatic

The figures eyes are dark and blank
With a mindset automatic
As she follows you around the scene
Her body remains static

The picture on the parlor wall
Sees all

Pleasant gentlemen both, broad shouldered and tall
Good sports who respect the umpire's call
Playing the game with pride and joy
Sincerely humble, never coy
Staunch New Yorkers with their eyes on the ball

Premium MemberPolitical Timeout

One was politically, a dedicated liberal.
The other was a staunch conservative.

They both were Christians and patriotic
countrymen, rendering to Caesar his portion,
and offering to God their devotion.

As the two relatives debated,
some hurtful words were stated.
The dialogue became offensive
and too personal when one said to
the other, "You have been brainwashed".

Parts of one's heart were broken when by
the other, those four words were spoken.
With control of his emotions,
he voiced his heated objection.

With purity of heart, one said that he was sorry.
With a sensitive heart, there was acceptance of his apology.

For a while, their conversational roadway ebbed and flowed.
But for now, their freeway of interaction is closed.
